I would have given 2nd round draft picks for the next 5 years, as a Pats fan, for Mack.

That McKinnon news is rough, I like him a lot. I guess Breida will have to carry the load for Jimmy G.
And Alfred Morris.

This broke during our fantasy football draft and I was up in like 6 picks. It kept scrolling on the screen and I was trying to distract everyone so I could grab Breida.

One of only two Raiders fans on here I think.

Expected this but still shocked. Gruden is betting his entire run at the helm on this. My personal theory is he wants to rebuild the defense to time out when Brady/Belichick are out of the league.

My biggest fear is the damage to the locker room.
Belichickian — while everyone stunned, Gruden says they made an offer but not remotely close. We’re not sinking that much money into two players

The Jets should have made a trade for Khalil Mack, their pass rush personnel is horrific. Chicago is a nice spot for Mack. Vic Fangio is the DC, and Mack/Roquan/Trevathian/Floyd might be a better LB corps than the one he coached in SF (Willis/Bowman/Aldon Smith/Ahmad Brooks).

Mansfield MA

RB Brandon Bolden is in Miami preparing to sign with the Dolphins, per a source.
Surprised at this; I thought for sure he'd be back.

They have to replace a lot of 2017 special teams snaps between Bolden, Richards, Bademosi (their top three in ST snaps last year), and Flowers (6th), though full seasons from Slater, Ebner, Grissom, and Grigsby will address at least part of that. Patterson and the young DBs will likely get the rest, maybe Darboh too if he sticks.

Definitely reads that way. A quick "hamstring" injury, seemingly out of nowhere to make him out and a same day release certainly doesn't look good. Particularly with how giddy the coaches/GM were throughout Hard Knocks waiting for him to return to the team. I hope I'm wrong, but this feels like a situation where we likely need to look beyond Josh Gordon the football player.

100% agree. This man needs someone or something to guide him in the right direction and turn things about. Like, say, Tom Brady’s touch.

deep inside Guido territory

On Josh Gordon: He was late today to the facility, source said. In addition, he was fine at Friday’s practice, then injured his hamstring. The question of how is part of the reason they released him. My understanding is it’s an overall trust issue for a player on thin ice.

Gotta think someone will claim him before he makes it to Pats.

Also totally unclear if they'd want him---I get why they might, but he's been totally unreliable and there's no evidence he has Moss' passion for game or competitiveness (to pick the most obvious comp someone might cite).

Cap-wise, I think he's only making $790k so that is another reason someone will grab him

Sadly, this may be it for Josh. Someone will probably claim him but hard to imagine him ever being productive again.

Perhaps; I think people will (perhaps quite reasonably) want to see what he does in a functional organization with quality coaching, structure, and support.

Though, if he does test positive for drugs again I tend to think he's less than even money to ever be back, so I'm wtih others in that scenario.

Dude isn't getting claimed.

It's a perfect storm. He's getting released by a joke organization with a coach most would fire before releasing Gordon with rumors of a hammy injury and tardiness issues. Pats will swoop in and everyone else will be like how tf did he end up there . Unless he's actually physically unfit to play.

He makes basically nothing, can't imagine there isn't at least 1 team that plans to bring him in for a look. Cowboys as noted are 100% not being scared off by attitude or even possible drug issues.
