RW looking active, very mobile, very long. Little bit of running around but to be expected. It’s easy for big men to get lost in SL so it’s good to see him out there doing stuff.

Big dude needs to work on his conditioning. Hope we can get him into shape and I don't mean Embiid-shape.

Blake Murphy: Robert Williams off to the locker room for the Celtics. Looked like a left knee, tried to play through it a few possessions (I think, he looked uncomfortable for a bit)

Semi, Williams and Bird all looked good - which is pretty much what we most hoped for. Highlight of the first half was the Philly guy falling down, taking a pass, and then passing it off himself while still on the floor

That whole Henry sequence cracked me up.

I cannot believe they are using this great Bill Withers song in a fucking Corona commercial. I’m a big believer in capitalism but I often want to kill marketing/advertising people.

Stay tuned for more random thought during summer league.

31 is giving me round 1 Thon Maker flashbacks. We need to be able to answer that BS.

It could be worse. They could have used this version:

Korkmaz needs to catch the next flight out of Vegas and head up to Philly. He is head and shoulders above everyone on the floor

I'm a huge Korkmaz guy, I love his shot
It's pure, quick and nice and I think he is a better passer than people realize.
I think he could be fun as a PNR handler.

The concern is the defense, he's not good

A bunch of his 3s were uncontested due to defensive miscommunication. He also got abused by Hassan Martin in the post. Remind me of Belinelli without the ability to hit off balance jumpers but 3 inches taller.

I hope the Cs sign Bird. He seemed like the best player on the court (notwithstanding the free throws). Set up people; scored some big hoops down the stretch; had to ply defense too.

I haven't seen a lot of him but he jumps differently than even NBA players. kind of a quicker, more explosive leaping ability. Wow.
Funny to think about the young bigs they’ve collected over the years by comparison. Perk, who couldn’t jump without crouching down to gain enough momentum to get off the ground (only to get stuffed anyway). Baby, Sully, No-Knees Powe. Nice to have a different type.

Bird's only negative is he doesn't look the part. Has those narrow shoulders that his shirt threatens to fall off of. Meanwhile you see his upper body double Jamal Crawford still playing well at age 38, so appearances don't mean everything in this league. (But by god if it did RWill would make the AS team this year.)

There's Yabu.

And again!
Ugh I dunno. I really want the guy to do well, but he still looks lost defensively. Fouled a million people in the first five minutes. He sure as shit closed the game though, hopefully he can carry that forward.

Agreed the shot is pure and he has a ton of confidence. Only 21, very impressive. He abused Semi and Bird more than a few times. He has a nice head fake. Looks like he can move the ball with the pass. He's tall enough to play perimeter defense against guys like Korver. He'll be a nice rotational piece off the Sixers bench.

I don’t see Williams/Kemp comparisons at all even if just athleticism. Kemp was a freak of power speed and jumping ability. Williams is longer and less agile.

The problem for Korkmaz as a defender who can guard the Korvers of the world is that guarding those guys is often one of the hardest things to do on a basketball court. You need to be a very good defender with a serious motor to consistently get around and through screens and stick to a shooter with a quick release

He at least tries on defense he needs some weight though and that foot injury last year didn't help, but shit he didn't play like a kid who lost a lot of time to injury in his rookie season.
I agree he should be a bench piece vs a blow out bench guy
Think that probably seals TLCs fate
