Figures....

Kopech finally comes up in the rotation, and there is a strong chance that the entire Lexington series will be rained out.

I'm at the Pawsox game. Swihart 0/2 on steals in the first, neither really close.

It's also supposed to thunderstorm within in around an hour. Windy as all get up right now.

Steady rain but no lightning so they are still playing. Chased the starter, batting around in the third.

Edit-Doesn't hurt that the Bisons have had 3 errors this inning

Tonight's game will be restarted as part of a single-admission doubleheader on Tuesday, April 14 at 5:15 p.m. (Gates open at 5 p.m.). This game will be completed and then the two teams will play a second seven-inning contest.
At its point of suspension, the Red Sox were leading the Bisons, 8-3 with one out in the 4th inning. PawSox designated hitter Bryce Brentz was at the plate with Bisons LHP Rob Rasmussen on the mound. The count was no balls and one strike.

If you look at the log, Kopech's start was much better than the line indicated. Only 1 walk and 3 strikeouts through 3 innings, then he gives up a single, gets an out, then a HR, then an out, then a walk and is lifted from the game. At that point its almost 4 innings and one bad pitch/good hit; the reliever gave up the third run charged to Kopech. For all intents and purposes, when you come in with 2 outs and a runner on first base you should get out of the inning.

Come on statheads, where are you on this one?  In this game, Lexington made EIGHT errors and won the game.  I would love to know if any team has ever made 8 errors in a game, at any professional level, and still won the game.

Well .. since the end of the deadball era it's probably pretty uncommon. But in the early part of the 20th century errors were a very common occurrence. Horrible infields and tiny gloves being the main culprits.

Jimmy Collins was widely viewed as the best fielding 3B in baseball from 1890-1910 or thereabouts

This is a great jumping off point for an article for publication. Hint, hint, hint.
