Gee who can punch harder Riley Nash or Methot? Apparently getting punched by Methot is a penalty for the receiver. Fuck this league.

I wish I had the will power to turn it off and refuse to watch going forward, but I'm a weak, weak man.

Lot of talk about faceoffs in here, I'd love to see a stat on how many times the Bruin player was sent out of the circle for a faceoff violation vs. a Senator player. I swear I counted at least a dozen times, Bergeron or someone got tossed, and maybe once on the Senators. The refs were working hard to give them the advantages tonight, IMO. The no-calls on Methot were egregious...

I don't mind the penalty since it was stupid to punch someone in the face. Just call the Karlsson one a minute earlier that was right in front of the ref.

Stole it twice. Allowed Karlsson to get away with a hold deep in his own end, then called shit. Disgusting.
What about the cross-check on Pastrnak in front of they Ottawa net moments before? I'm beyond incensed right now. My wife is alarmed. Send the fucking tape to the league. Method's interference/rabbit punches, Karlsson's BS with Vatrano—this is a fucking disgrace. I simply cannot believe they made that call.

What the shit happened to letting the players decide the game? Unless it's absolutely egregious, swallow your fucking whistles. This league is the same as it ever was, completely fucking bogota.

For as much as we shit on Pierre, he was incensed by the Nash call, not because it was a bad call entirely, but because it was a bad call both in the context of the play (Ryan wasn't innocent in that exchange) and the OT period in general. I'm sure the crew out there is incompetent as opposed to biased, but shit like the calls and lack thereof in OT doesn't help the perception.

The Bruins' 12th available D-man sucks. I think we all know that. Get healthy, grab game 4 by the balls, and punch them in the face (legally) in Ottawa one more time.

It was a call that should not have been made at that point, I agree with that, however, don't give them a chance to make that call
This logic blows... Ottawa had literally put the refs in position to make a number of very easy calls literally seconds before and after that.. but instead of doing what they did all game they only gave one side a penalty this one time... Ryan literally threw an elbow into another guys face and got no call.

The Bruin's were flying mid third period.. and the only reason it went to OT were a number of huge calls that were not made and a number of huge penalties that weren't called... it's not that you don't let yourself get put in that position... you expect consistency...because otherwise there is no way to actually compete if the rules are different for both teams.

Consistency!
Now I see what the ref saw it sort of make sense... it looks like Ryan actually there a legit hit.. but if you're at the side you see he threw an elbow. From the other angle I didn't even see the punch.

Just a joke of a turn of events. After watching Shaller get punched in the face twice directly in front of the refs with no call, then to see Ryan elbow Nash in the head and get called on a quick punch to the head... ugh. That's not calling the hooking on Karlsson, or the cross check to Pastrnak right in front of the net, and about 20 different interference calls over the last period and a half. Just absolute bullshit that Ottawa gets a power play. I was always taught not to blame the refs... but damn.

I'm not sure how the Bruins can put the puck in the net though if they are getting knocked on their asses without a call on almost every play in OT - but what a play by Karlsson! Ugh.

And given all that... they just played that penalty kill like crap. Chara was sooo late getting off the ice. I'm not sure what Cross was doing. They need to get a couple of D back - I think Chara is being asked to do too much. His flip into the seats the last game is a mistake of an exhausted man, and I'd guessing he just had no gas to get off the ice. I dunno. I'm not upset at them not winning (well I am but not throw something at the screen upset), but upset at HOW they are losing.

Much like the 2011 Finals, this series has very quickly made me go from "Ottawa, that's a team.... I'm kind of indifferent towards them but think their style of play is pretty boring and not fun to watch", to "Holy shit I hate these fucking pieces of garbage with the fury of 1000 suns feeding on the flesh of an entire civilization".

To put that in perspective, I still really, really enjoy watching the Blackhawks play since the 2013 Finals.

You're fun.
the Bruins have been poorly run since their last Cup run and lucky to sneak into the playoffs this year.

I feel for the diehards griping about the reffing but it took an all-time gaffe from Ryan in the 2nd to get this to OT. good luck on the rest of the series, I don't see it... but hockey can be the most random of hte four major sports

Penalty call was inexcusable, especially immediately after the non-call where Patrnak got tripped in front of the net. Refs could have called matching minors if they really felt it was too chippy. Worst call from an NHL official in a long time, and that's saying something.

Here'a a better angle and Pierre even calling it a farce. Convinced it was a dive too. Ryan elbow's Nash in the head, Nash give him a shove to the face, and Ryan jerks his head back and a second later decides to kick his legs out.

Moore can't chase behind the net there either. Stop in front and slow things down for a second while they're completing the change.
