Jarlin Garcia is the 25 year old Dominican righty SP who is going for Miami today, and who has pitched very well in his first three starts, no-hitting the Mets through 6 last time out and only allowing 5 hits in 16 innings in 3 starts so far.

    Starlin we know.

Garcia vs. Tanaka, another 6:30 start.

What was the crowd's reaction to Starlin last night?

By the way, if you go back and listen to the conversations that both Kay and Cone were having last night, it was really awful. Specifically, at some point between the 7th and 8th inning they had almost no chatter, seemed angry with each other, and spent the time speaking fairly negatively about the Marlins, the trades they conducted, the players in those trades, and the bleak future of the team. At one point, they said the Marlins have no chance to make the playoffs for at least 3 years.

Just really shitty all around and very very odd. Wish I recorded.

Interesting, I was watching delayed already knowing what happened and turned it off after Andujar's last AB, so I missed that. Cone seems to be on more games this year and I'm sure he can be a little abrasive so what you describe isn't too surprising.

Cessa back up, so someone is going on the DL but no one seems to have any idea who yet. I am hoping for Shreve, based on nothing.

That's a lineup that is ready to sweep. :)

Seriously though, having a healthy Hicks back makes such a huge difference. He really lengthens the lineup.

That is probably the best lineup the Yankees have thrown out there all year.

Interesting scoring, not sure how they decided the error

Thread jinx or just mediocre in April? All evidence points to the latter.

Long way to go in this one.

What if it turns out that Wingack is a Sox fan and rem is a Yankee fan?

Just keep up all this jinx crap, keep doubling down and tripling down on it, it's a laff riot. At least the rest of the Board will find it amusing when we fetch up 15 back in September.

Just for the record, jinx has nothing to do with the erratic and mediocre performance so far. This team has more holes than originally thought. Cashman has some work to do, and both the time and flexibility to work things out.

and the gods have responded to my plea for a reasonably injury free season by, so far, trending even worse than last year which will doom us

What did you think of Tanaka's performance? Is he just off to a slow start?

More freezing weather, so I wouldn’t take much from it but he has stopped throwing his fastball at historic levels so far this year, there was a piece about it the other day at Fangraphs. Tonight there was a lot of bad luck and sloppy play involved, but also he didn’t have much.

The last three runs could easily have not been earned also, Andujar couldn’t play a slow bouncer with two outs and they scored it a hit.

Thanks, jon abbey. I usually don't have too many Yankees on my fantasy team, but.... I think I'll keep Tanaka and just bench him until he finds his groove.

What is Wingy going to do with his broom? Sweep up the crap that he was spewing?

Andujar with his third straight game with multiple extra base hits. I haven't been to Twitter for a while but that can't happen too often for anyone, let alone someone in the first few weeks of their career.

All-time record in a career is 4, this threesome ties a Yankee record though. Plenty have done it in franchise history, from Gehrig in 1938, Reggie in 1980, Mantle in 1966, just to name a few.

As for rarity in first 15 games, only four players all-time have had four scattered games of scattered 2+ XBH.

Nice, thanks! First Yankee third baseman to do it since Bob Meusel in 1920.

Maybe just around interleague games? Agreed it’s rare.
