Massive game, and getting point(s) out of it puts them on solid ground with Ottawa, Tampa, and Washington to wrap things up. Shock the United States of America.

Are they grooming Gord Miller to take over from Doc? I mean, he's a good choice, but I'd rather they explore moving on from Pierre or Olczyk.

Yeah but Doc is also 70 where Eddie and Pierre are only in their 50s... They might be looking for an heir apparent for when Doc eventually retires.

At the risk of being repetitive - the Bergeron line is so so good.

It may not result in a win, and it may not last due to travel fatigue, but so far the Bruins look sharper than they did yesterday.

The second icing getting waived off a few minutes in had me livid. There's zero consistency with the hybrid even 2+ years into it.
Yep, I hate the hybrid system almost as much as I hate the god awful delay of game penalty for shooting the puck out of play.

Almost.... but not quite.

I get it, player safety and all, and that part of it makes sense, but when you see a pretty clear icing get waved off for some reason (I did miss the first one today, but have seen it) then see an icing get called on a puck that never even reaches the end line.... they need to figure out a way to clean it up. It shouldn't be as subjective as it seems to be.

He's already made a couple great plays. He shouldn't sit as a healthy scratch again.
Assuming you're referencing him diving to stop the puck. That was kinda his fault for not getting the puck through. Good recovery but ideally he doesn't put himself in the situation.

His dive to break up a potential home run pass to Hossa was great - but he played some part in creating the opportunity as well by pinching into nowhere.

Agreed he shouldn't be a scratch though, he adds a lot of positive possession characteristics on an offensively challenged blue line.

edit: fist bump @kenneycb

I find myself screaming at Backes multiple times per game

edit: after creating an icing situation, he stands and watches a loose puck in the corner that he can clearly get to first.

Yeah I yelled at the TV there too. Just sitting there idly.

I thought Oduya just missed that.

I was pretty against his signing, just because I was afraid he'd be thrusted into a top-9 role, but Moore should be part of the team's plans going forward. Not long-term, but for another year or two.

Bruins need to start working the puck down low in the O zone. The point play is just not open.
