Game 2 in ARI features NY's Opening Day pitcher Nestor Cortes Jr. against ARI's ace Zac Gallen. Both pitched once already, both went five innings, Gallen threw 90 pitches while his team was scoring 16 runs and Cortes Jr. got hit early but settled down to get 12 of the final 13 guys he faced, allowing his team to hang in there and later come back and win. He threw 76 pitches, so can maybe go 90 or 95 today.

Not much head to head history with either pitcher, and what there is is very pro-pitcher. Nestor has held Gurriel to 1-11 and Gallen has held Soto to 3-19 (with a HR) and Grisham to 4-24 (also with a HR).

9:40 PM EST again, again on YES.

Oh I forgot to predict the lineup, but they have been basically playing the same guys every day, alternating catchers every other day. Don't mess with success, I guess.

This is the actual lineup, Berti and Grisham sit again:

Torres 2B
Soto RF
Judge CF
Rizzo 1B
Stanton DH
Verdugo LF
Volpe SS
Cabrera 3B
Trevino C

Yeah that wasn’t competitive.

Victor Gonzalez a super odd bullpen choice there, he got the save yesterday plus their lefty-hitting lineup is in. At least NY’s main bullpen guys are all rested for tomorrow, especially with an off day Thursday.

I had a good run, someone else should start today's game, afternoon getaway day.
