Portland wins game one, 8-4.

Matt Kent went six innings and three batters, allowing four runs on seven hits – including homers by Deivi Grullon and Brandon Bednar – and two walks while whiffing a trio. Trevor Kelley struck out two of the three men he faced in the seventh; leaving the bases loaded.

Jantzen Witte whipped Reading pitching with two doubles and a homer in four jaunts; reaching on catcher's interference as well. Tony Renda and Luke Tendler each roped a single and a double in four at-bats. Jeremy Rivera and Austin Rei each reached on a hit and a walk in four appearances; Rei with a bomb. Nick Lovullo laced a double in three trips. Josh Ockimey singled and struck out thrice. Danny Mars earned a free pass in three matchups. Tate Matheny managed a sacrifice fly in his four treks.

Game two was suspended entering the bottom of the ninth due to rain. Portland will get last ups, down 9-7, before today's scheduled game.

Kutter Crawford went five solid frames, allowing a solo moonshot from MJ Melendez for the only run he gave up. Crawford gave up four other hits and a wild pitch while striking out eight. Angel Padron pitched the final 3 1/3 innings, yielding three runs (two earned) on four hits – including long balls from Ricky Aracena and the walk-off from Cal Jones – a hit by pitch, and two wild pitched; whiffing a pair.

Ricardo Cubillan chipped two singles and dropped a sacrifice bunt in four appearances. Marino Campana and Everlouis Lozada each contributed two hits in four excursions; Lozada with a double, Campana with a homer. Frankie Rios reached with a single and a hit by pitch in four forays. Lorenzo Cedrola, Cole Brannen, and Zach Sterry each launched one hit in five at-bats; Cedrola with a triple. Charlie Madden managed a base on balls in four tries. Jagger Rusconi suffered four junky jaunts.

Pawtucket and Salem were both postponed due to rain. Salem will play two today, PawSox have rescheduled the postponed game for the next time Buffalo is in town in June.
