Deybi Salcedo got the start for the FCL Sox.
Salcedo turns 20 on July 5th & was a late signing last season, signing for $10k on July 3rd.
The 6'1 RHP from Payita, DR had really good results in his 8 games & 13.1 innings, putting up a 1.35 ERA, 0.53 WHIP, 1.4 bb/9 & 12.8 k/9.
One thing I just noticed about his usage is that right when they picked him up he pitched 1 inning or less in his 1st 5 games, & then in the final 3 he went 2 innings, 3 innings & then 4 innings -- so they could see him as a starter who just needed building up.
Deybi did not have great control today but it worked out:

Next they brought in Ovis Portes, who missed all but a smidgeon of '23 with injury & pitched 4.1 innings & allowed 6 ER in the DSL last year.
As maybe the only known PORTES stan, I was excited to see this:

Raimundo De Los Santos was 2-4 with 2 steals (3) & a cs.
Franyer Noria was 0-1 with a walk, a hbp & a steal, & he showed scored both of the runs in the game.
Karim Ayubi & Kelvin Diaz were 1-2 with a walk.
Yohander Linarez was 1-3.
Franklin Arias was 1-4.
Andruw Musett was 0-2 with a walk before coming out of the game a bit early for Gerardo Rodriguez to finish the game at catcher. Hopefully not injury related.
