It's really time for a couple of players to start hitting. I can't believe our record despite how many great big slumps there are by some of our core players.

I like what Boone is doing with Sanchez and if they see something working today or yesterday, I wouldn't care if they gave him another day or two off to really clear his head.

Nice tidy 34 pitch first for Sonny, let’s score some runs tonight.

How about that. 3 outs in 1 pitch. I'll take that.

AJ Cole is around and probably has cobwebs on him at this point, but NY has young inexperienced rookies going the next two nights (German/Loaisiga) so good question.

Then Gray gets three outs in one pitch, that is hard to do (DP, pickoff).

Bird's tag was slow and lousy, I'm sorry I'm not all that impressed with him at all

Cole last pitched May 28, they must be keeping him stretched out on the side.

Even when Bird is cold, he can always do that.

When Paul O'Neill is the best of the three announcers in your booth, that's not good.

lmao, of course...I need to be more critical of Sanchez when he's back in the lineup

Yea, Bird has a long leash for me. He has essentially had 1.5 seasons of very inconsistent baseball due to weird injuries. Now he's healthy and it's gonna take at least a few weeks for him to get into a real groove. We forget he barely has more experience than Torres and Andujar in the bigs

The crowd not quite as loud as they were on the Miller one above, hehe.

I think a Nick Johnson comparison is fair. Good when healthy, just never healthy.

I was thrilled to see I could watch on ESPN tonight - that's how bad the Nats announcers are. Appreciate what you have.

He's definitely Nick Johnson 2.0 if he continues to have injury problems. I'm just hoping he stays healthy for awhile.

PS. I loved Nick Johnson. It sucked that he couldn't stay on the field. His ABs were always great.

Coup, the roster would be down to 17 players by now if you were GM.

among those currently working, I was quite unhappy when Steiner decided he wanted the West Coast

That wasn't even a good throw by Gardner, he got a nice bounce but awful decision by Eaton.

I always loved the story about how Sterling was bitter that it was Steiner's turn to do PBP for the Boone HR. Downside is that we ended up stuck with Sterling.

Gray topping at 95 tonight, still dubious of that gun but nice to see anyway.

Is this the worst base-running ever?

Man, I thought the Sox made a lot of outs on the basepaths. The Nats have, what, 4 tonight?

I think WAS is challenging that pickoff, not that YES has any idea.

ESPN did a full commercial break and came back for the last 45 seconds of the challenge, and is now sitting here as they warm-up. I think it's the umps' fault.
