While I'm here... TBD for Salem is Tanner Houck.

And Lowell will be starting Brian Brown, not Juan Perez.

As always, starting pitchers are subject to change.

Lowell lives a horror show in the third, loses 9-3.

Boxscore

Brian Brown gave up a single (runner was caught stealing) and struck out one (reached on wild pitch then picked off) in the first then got the next five batters he faced – one by K – in his first professional start.

Then, the horror that was an eight run third began with an innocent single and a walk. A grounder to first resulted in an out at second but the return throw was wild and the first run scored. A steal, a wild pitch, and then another grounder (which would have resulted in the third out for the second time) was booted, and a second run scored. A single and a walk put the bases loaded again and ended Brown's night. Juan Perez came in and immediately uncorked a wild pitch for the third run of the inning. He then induced an infield grounder to the first baseman which resulted in no outs and the fourth runner in. A ground ball single to center saw the fifth run on the inning in and ended Brown's line – 2 2/3 IP, 5 unearned runs on three hits, two walks, and two wild pitches with two Ks. Another wild pitch and then a triple saw two runs go on Perez's docket. Then a comebacker to Perez resulted in no outs and the eighth run of the inning coming in. Finally, another grounder to third finally ended the horror show.

Juan Perez pitched the next two innings, ending his line with four runs on six hits – including an Emmanuel Valdez tater – two wild pitches, and two Ks over 2 1/3 innings. Tanner Raiburn gave up a hit and struck out one in the sixth. Oddanier Mosqueda struck out three in his two perfect frames.

Jarren Duran delivered a single and a walk (and was caught stealing) in three jaunts before giving way to Jonathan Ortega who obtained a single in his only opportunity. Korby Batesole knocked a single in his two at-bats after replacing Andre Colon who was unable to reach in two contests. Alberto Schmidt sliced a single in three sessions. Garrett Benge blooped a single in three attempts before being replaced by Grant Williams who had one uninspired up. Ramfis Berroa, Trey Ganns, and Xavier LeGrant each laced on hit in four excursions; LeGrant and Berroa with a double. Cole Brannen and Tyler Esplin each had three terrible trips before being replaced by Nicholos Hamilton and Dylan Hardy who each struck out in their only attempt.
