Severino vs. Kluber tonight at 7:10. If you still believe in Ws, 14-2 vs. 12-4.
Kluber got roughed up by the young Yankees last October and might still be pissed. The Cleveland fans will be out in full force in a playoff atmosphere because they remember last October, too.
Cleveland's bullpen sports a 5.37 ERA, worst in the majors. Andrew Miller has been out since late May with a sore right knee. He threw off a mound on Wednesday and might be back by August.
Cleveland's lefty relievers are Tyler Olson and ... Oliver Perez! So you can see why Terry Francona hopes to get at least seven innings out of Kluber tonight.
The Yankees are built for low-scoring games like the one we expect tonight. But their infield defense is not air-tight right now.
Four games in Cleveland and then comes the All-Star break. The Yankees could use a break.

Tonight is really important to have a strong chance of splitting the series. We face Kluber, Bauer, and Clevinger this series. This is a 4 game preview of what round 1 could look like in the playoffs (minus trades).

They also have Dan Otero, "OP", "OT" it's all the same to Indian's pitch coach Carl Willis...... (On Tuesday Terry called for Perez, Will heard OT instead of what Francona had said, OP and was...surprised at who came walking out of the pen...)

Have we had the same lineup two days in a row this season? Can we try that once? Please?

I've been worried that the Yankees haven't rested Severino enough this season but I just checked and he actually has almost an identical amount of innings as Sale. He's got 6 fewer innings with 1 less start.

Over the previous 14 days, the only two starting Yankees with an OPS under 800 are Andujar (.799) and Didi (.658). If you expand that out to the platoon players, the Walker is .734.

Romine is damn good, if that throw isn't exactly there, they don't get him...which at least saves one run.... sigh

Seve fans EE on 3 pitches to end the fifth, last one at 100 mph. Where was that all night?

Would you agree that it feels like he's been working through some stuff the past few starts. Even when he had that streak of like 3 runs in 4 or 5 games he didn't really seem incredibly sharp. Tonight, its much more obvious.

The one before this was TOR and he wasn't great, but the two before that were BOS and PHI which were both quite dominant, especially the Philly one.

I’d say this battle of bullpen slightly favors NY.

And by slightly I mean overwhelmingly.

Nice to play a contending team instead of the ones playing out the string. Feels like something is at stake tonight.

Francona is terrified of that bullpen, and it burns him again.

    I love Aaron Hicks.

A healthy Andrew Miller changes this game completely. But Tito has to manage what he has, same as the Yankees have to play Neil Walker instead of Torres and Romine instead of Sanchez.

What he has is a rested bullpen and a starter at 113 pitches who the Yankees have been smacking around.

Read my opening post. Cleveland's bullpen has the worst ERA in MLB. Tito sees them every night. How often do you watch them?

I think he’s actually 3rd among all MLB CFs in WAR, behind just Trout and Cain.
