Baseball agent Jason Wood is being investigated by the player’s union for allegedly filming numerous clients while they were using his shower, seven sources tell FanRag Sports.

Three sources say that Wood has been fired by CSE, where he was the President of Baseball. A search to replace him is underway, with the agency hoping to find someone to fill that role soon. Some players have already fired CSE and have hired new representation or are looking to do so in the near future.

Recently, a player who chose not be identified, was using a shower at Wood’s home and found a camera, sources say. The player confronted Wood, then followed by firing him immediately, sources say.

Wood did not respond to texts or calls asking for comment.

Multiple sources suggest that there were other players being filmed, with their identities being unknown.

Wood represented many players around MLB, including the Boston Red Sox’s Andrew Benintendi, Colorado Rockies’ Riley Pint and Atlanta Braves’ Joey Wentz.

I'm just gonna go out on a limb and say that this is way beyond a fireable offense. If true, this is criminal, right? Not a lawyer but this would seem to be a slam dunk crime.

Not a dumb question at all....

Is "CSE" basically not a big agency, but actually run out of the dude's house? Only even somewhat logical answer....

This may be a dumb question, but why are players showering at an agents house?
I don't know the particulars here, but I have read stories of, for example, a player "being in town" for one reason or another, and an agent putting him up at his home. Especially agents who live in relative luxury, as its a chance to show off. (I assume agents are always trying to impress their clients to keep them?) A low-salary player might accept the offer.

Who knows? They're kids; maybe he's telling them they're about to meet some potential brands looking to sign them and to shower up before they head out. Predators and manipulators are really good at what they do.

Joe Dokes covered the second part - if they're minor leaguers at the time still, maybe it's just an opportunity to not stay at a hotel once again while in town.

Maybe this guy just films everyone showering at his place. Must be weird when mom and the new step dad stay over, but to each their own.

Ok, that makes some sense.

Would not shock me at all to see him come out with this as his defense. Camera used for...personal reasons, forgot to turn it off. Hell, it may even be true.

Definitely for personal reasons. Just for him and maybe others at well. Not sure anyone would buy the forgot to turn off the shower camera excuse.

I suppose agents may have gyms and provide personal trainers for when one of their players is in town working with the agency. Hence the shower.

Since its his home I suppose he can argue in court should there be charges that the camera was for when him and his mate engaged in whatever. I can see not shutting it off, some operate when motion detected. Of course, cops will seize all his tech devices and search for images so he would have to wipe them clean or better yet, dispose if them. If anything went over the internet he is screwed though.

Obviously his boss isn't buying it, nor the players. How dumb can you get? Have to imagine they get paid pretty well. The agency itself might be doomed w/o serious damage control.

I know a couple agents around here(not baseball), and this isn't an unusual practice at all, even with bigger clients. Agents will treat their players like family, and having them stay at their house while they are in town during the offseason isn't uncommon. Furthermore, a lot of these guys are just plain cheap, and would rather stay at someone's 7,500ft mcmansion for free rather than paying for a room at the Four Seasons out of their own pocket.
