I know everyone’s clowning on him because of this, but this is exactly why I like Joe Maddon. Seems like a good guy to lead a club.
It's just the timing that is funny, I feel like he has done that before but maybe I'm imagining it.

There’s no doubt that the timing is hilarious. I know that he gives off an air of insufferablity but it’s stuff like this that humanizes him for me.
Like I couldn’t imagine a stiff like Tony LaRussa doing this. Maddon seems like a decent guy to play for.
I guess I’m not sure why he inspires such vitriol. Not saying that your post had that (it absolutely didn’t) but this thread has a bunch of people dancing on his grave. I’m not sure why. (No judgement, I’m probably just missing or forgetting something.)
Someone needs to ask Minasian about this now, wish there was footage of that interaction. According to what we know, Minasian decided to fire him in between games, got approval from Moreno, drove to Maddon's house to do it in person, so he presumably saw his new haircut in the process but was not moved.
I like to imagine that this is what got him fired. Management wanted to play Nickleback as the walk up songs and he insisted on the Mohawk.

See, you do it once, you’re motivating your team. You do it multiple times, maybe you’re just looking for an excuse to get a mohawk
