Booker missed the game and is dealing with a nagging hip injury.

HRB's binky Levert seems to be doing pretty well so far but the whole thing is such a tire fire it really doesn't matter.

In almost 100 minutes over the last three games Brook Lopez has 5 rebounds. No, not per game.

Lopez's lack of rebounding has always really bothered me but now I love it.

Brook Lopez has never been much of a rebounder and now that they're using him as a stretch big he has even fewer opportunities.

EDIT: He had 31 career three-point attempts coming into the season, but has 179 in 34 games so far this year. That's just absurd.

Philly with a nice comeback win against the hapless Knicks. Looking like Miami is definitely our top challenger here.

I'm not really that worried about Miami. Their schedule over the past month has been tough. Starting next week they have a bunch of winnable games coming up. The only thing that can stop the Nets is if the Nets start winning games.

Miami has two games with Brooklyn at the end of the month. Dragic and Whiteside sitting could easily lead to a sweep.

Is that a bad thing when he is hitting 36% of them? I think the trade off is more than worth it in todays NBA and for his overall trade value. It's also not that absurd anymore. Channing Frye, Jabari Parker, Al Horford, DeMarcus Cousins etc are all guys who went from shooting no 3 pointers to over 3 or 4 a game. Jabari you can explain away with youth, but the other guys added the 3 point shot 5-8 years into their careers. As you would expect though, their rebounding rates went down when their range expanded.

Plus, he just added the shot this year. He should be even better at it next year.

Wolves are now six wins clear with a W over OKC. Philly trending up. Dallas should be good enough. Suns are iffy but have enough talent. This is a two horse race, no worse than the 5th pick on its way.

Here
Yes, it's down to a team trying to win (with a 4 game, I guess..."advantage") versus a team trying to tank. Go...team trying to lose (by "go," I mean win).

BRK getting crushed by HOU. Will be 2.5 games ahead of MIA for worst record.
And, more important, there is some real distance between Nets and #3. Celtics should have no worse than a 20% chance at the top pick this year.

As much as we all hate the Lakers, we probably want them to keep their top 3 protected pick this year. Not sure we want Philly getting any more ammunition to add to the Embiid, Simmons core.

Can we all take a deep breath on PHI? Embiid is a monster but lets see if he can stay healthy and Simmons has yet to play a minute and has a broken shot.

PHI added picks doesnt concern me in the slightest.

BRK down 13 to TOR, with six min left. MIA up 5 on HOU, also with six min left. Could be a win-win.

EDIT: And DAL up 9 on CHI in the 3rd quarter.

EDIT #2: BRK loses, MIA up 11 with two min left.

Brooklyn might win 5 more games this season, so we're reaching stranglehold territory here.

Lin should eventually come back and stabilize things a bit but it won't matter. They don't have the pieces to compete on defense at all, and the best they can hope for this season is development for Hollis-Jefferson and Levert and making any trades they can to acquire more young guys like them with some real NBA abilities.

Not to mention, given how this season has gone they aren't going to push Lin very hard. They'll need him alive as the only real draw on the roster heading into 2018.

Worth noting the Nets are a much better team at home. The thing that separates them from the rest of the NBA is their abysmal road play. 1-18 now and they have more road games left than home games.

Philly is now completely off the radar. Only Miami has a chance now, and they'll have to lose to the Nets in their next two meeting for them to have a chance.

Sixers are closer to playoff spot than they are to the Nets.

Here
Philly is going to get Simmons back, make the playoffs, and scare the shit out of whichever top seed they get (hopefully not Boston).

I am on the Philly makes a run at the playoffs bandwagon, but the odds of them winning enough games the rest of the way to reach the #6 spot are pretty astronomical. They'll make the Cavs work for it, though.

Playoffs? I know they're playing well and Embiid is a superstar, but they'd probably have to get to 41 wins, right? That means playing .642 ball from here on out and here's the list of teams who have done that this year: Warriors, Spurs, Rockets, Clippers, Cavs and Raptors. I'm not ready to say they can play anywhere near that level.

They've been playing better than .500 ball for a month, and have kept getting better over that stretch. If they keep up the .570 pace of that stretch, they'll push 40 wins. Or, put another way, make a run at the playoffs. The odds are against them making it, for certain. But people should be unsurprised when the Sixers end up a 38 win team this year.
