Curious timing considering they are carrying 7 healthy D already.

1-11=12 in 25 AHL games. Undersized LHD, 3rd round pick in 2012 out of BU.

He seems to basically be Krug-redux so maybe he picked something up against Montreal? He didn't get any discipline for the Shaw hit so agree with the curious timing.

Maybe they are just rewarding him for his recent strong play with a quick call up?

They also could be worried about the back to back tonight in Pittsburgh, and then tomorrow night so they want an extra body? No idea. Curious timing. I would have assumed a forward was more likely.

He's more skilled than a couple of the current D. I'm happy with the move even if Krug would be 100%.

I imagine it's mostly a "check-in" type call up so he can be around the team for a few days and Claude gets a feel for how he's improved since camp. He's played better of late in Providence, but hasn't shown much in the games I've seen down there to think he can contribute much with the big club.

Anybody catch your eye so far down there as more advanced than others?

Debrusk is really adapting well. Had a great goal the other night where he stick handled through 2 and used a 3rd as a screen. Uses his body well and is improving positionally. He was a little bit snakebit early on goals, but I think he's learned that he needs to get the shots off a little quicker to beat pro goalies.

I didn't give Colby Cave much of a shot last year, but he might have a chance to be a bottom six contributor. Cehlarlik has looked pretty good as well. Always seems to find himself around the puck, so he looks like he has a high hockey IQ to go with some good size. Skating is OK, but I think he can improve. I still like Casto on D. I think he has been a little better all around than O'Gara and Grzycyk. Blidh is my binky this year. Really, really like him as a sandpaper merlot line guy with some skill. I think he showed some of that in his time in Boston.
