Thought I'd put down my drink for a moment and note:

-- Holy shit, that Schaller goal!

-- Seeing the Rangers suck makes me happy in the pants.

You guys think Vesey wishes he came here now?
I'd imagine it's tough to go wrong as a rich 22 year old in NYC, but from a hockey standpoint I don't think there's any doubt which team has a better trajectory. Not sure if that was quite as clear 1.5 years ago, but it's pretty incredible to see what the draft and develop approach has yielded.

It wasn't long ago that folks were maligning Sweeney for his trade market inactivity. His patience has paid dividends, especially with players like Spooner and Heinen... seems hilarious to think they offered Spooner + 2nd for Chris Stewart and Buffalo said no in Chiarelli's last year.

Early plane flight, so I'm going to skip the 3rd and assume the B's will win. This streak is nuts, and the fact that they're getting scoring from all 4 lines continues to be a reason that I consider them a legit Cup Contender.

I *really* hope Kuraly goes back to the bench and chirps Marchand about how that's how you score on an odd man rush

When McQuaid is tic-tac-toeing and trying to pick a shot high blocker, Vigneault's job has to be on the line right?

Czarnik has points in all 3 games in his return.

I don’t think it is hyperbole to say the Bruins have 7-8 NHL caliber lines between Boston and Providence.

Rewatching the second McQuaid / McLeod tilt, I didn't really pick up on how trim McQuaid looks until now - jibes with how he has somehow performed better since coming back from his broken leg than in years past:

Always good to get 4 out of 4 points on a road back-to-back, even if the opposing teams are pretty bad. Gotta hand it to Cassidy, this team doesn't seem to play down to their opponents in the slightest. They're one point back of Tampa with a game in hand, and are tied with them for best goal differential in the league (+49). I'm thoroughly impressed with this team.

This set of games is pretty intense: through the Calgary game next Tuesday will be five games in seven days. I'd give Khudobin an encore on Saturday against Buffalo, and let Tuukka rest up for the Devils on Sunday.

Khudobin got Buffalo the first two meetings this year. A 5-4 OT loss and a 3-0 shutout victory (which was the second day of a back to back).
