I remember the close games... but in no way were they close to getting swept.

All series have close games. Yes, game 2 - Magic threw the ball away, stolen by Hendu for a layup. I was at the game -- Magic dribbled the clock out - BAD COACHING - Magic could not think well in a set-up game. And we saw the ball inbounded - realized it was Magic to Kareem - who was smothered. Saw the panic in Johnson's eyes as THEY HADN'T CALLED AN OPTION! HE DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO! C's win in overtime.

Game 4 he also choked it away.

Game 5 - BLOWOUT IN BOSTON. One of the best Celtics victories of all time, even bigger than game 7.

No, the Celtics weren't "almost swept" -- they won two close games, taking advantage of Magic Johnson's inability to think his way out of a paper bag in two of the games.
Well at least we agree that after game 4 we know the Celtics had turned the series around. I remember M.L. stealing the ball for a basket right at the end then fouling somebody right after. Cooper maybe? It didn't matter but still I wanted to strangle him for fouling.

Baseball Prospects let Deadspin publish @Chad Finn essay about the 2018 red sox and boy its worth a read..

I demand you read it. I sprained my neck nodding in agreement with almost everything Chad wrote

Outstanding article and I do remember some writers trying to tell us Boston fans that it wouldn’t be the same, that part of the mystique and aura came from not winning it all, and if we did some of the enjoyment would go away. Well, that was bullshit all the way. Now “Drive for five” (this century), or something.

Magic, in time, learned. But the Celtics knew - he couldn't think well in a set-up offense. On the fly, instinctively - there was no one better. But in a half-court setup situation - such as in game 2.... yeah .... we saw three seconds into the play that whatever it was, wasn't going to work, and Magic was CONFUSED.

Though its kind of funny that its been known since 2013 that Bill de Blasio is a sox fan... Yet people on social media are thinking this is some new development. It literally came out during his first election yet New Yorkers elected him and then re-elected him...

Yet another titletown vid and you can even watch it before the Celtics game, if you start now (long one).

Edit, it's got a mostly side view of the incredible Vinatieri kick in the snow bowl that I've never seen. The ball loses its end over end motion the last 20 yards or so and sort of goes all weird but maintains the direction he had to have to make it.
Kick at about 8:50.
