We're literally reaching the point that if a white person talks about someone that isn't white and anyone doesn't like what the white person said... the white person is racist.
If anything, what I took from that link is that Jose Bautista can't maintain comprehension beyond a few phrases and instead decides to bully and threaten a guy that says something he doesn't like.
That word is either "insensitive" or "ignorant." I also agree it is not racist in the sense he thinks Dominicans are "inferior" due to lack of academics. But people with any intelligence don't even address this topic in the way he did he should have known it was a dumb thing to say. Clearly his academic education didn't stop cowherd from being an idiotPapelbon's Poutine said:It's not racist because Dominican is not a race. Words have, like, definitions and stuff. It's certainly offensive and was a stupid comment, but no, it's not racist. Skewer him as he deserves but choose a different word. Consult a dictionary if necessary.
It's not racist because "Dominican" is not a race it's a nationality, but to me he clearly believes Dominicans are intellectually inferior which is why he used them to make his point that baseball isn't hard since hey, those dummy Dominicans can learn it. Trying to justify it by talking about their education system just made him look stupid, formal education has nothing to do with a capacity to learn, he clearly thinks Dominicans aren't the brightest bulbs and he deserves to be rightfully skewered for that assertion.redsoxcentury said:That word is either "insensitive" or "ignorant." Major League Baseball denounced your remarks. Did you talk to anyone from the league?
No, I'd love to reach out to Pedro Martinez. I had him on my show about three or four months before I left. There is a Rain Man quality to his baseball knowledge. He was an incredible guest.
