FWIW, the Eagles have fumbled four times and recovered two - and the most important of those fumbles led to a six-point swing (should have been seven) in the Eagles' favor. So I think luck is pretty even so far, or perhaps slightly favoring Philly.
I think wind conditions are worse than they look out there, and playing into the wind is much more difficult than usual.

Agree about the luck evening out.

Hogwash. What a terrible call. These refs need a LOT of work.
I don't know if the NFL has data, but I am skeptical whether ripping apart crews that have worked together for 17 weeks really is a good idea. Baseball is different, because ump responsibilities are all so well set. But if you have a white hat who is liberal about letting holding go but a backfield guy who calls every touch illegal contact (just as an example) it changes things. It all inter-relates, or at least some of it does.

Why? For the entire week?
Sorry was gone for a while.
I'm not sure if it is the whole week but I heard Fauria say that on EEI.
While Fauria is generally speaking an idiot he was in the NFL and he was definitive on this point so I'm going with it.

As for the crowd it won't be quite like a home game but obviously the tickets that end up on the secondary market will most likely end up with Vikings fans.

Fucking commercial 8 seconds before the two minute warning. For fuck's sake -- this isn't the Super Bowl.

This is the sort of situation all year long where the Falcons have underperformed: late in the first half, potential drive to score, less than three timeouts. Ryan has been great in these situations in the past, but remember the Falcons-Saints game in Atlanta on Thursday night: driving for a potential FG, Ryan threw a terrible pick and the Saints should have scored the FG instead.

I think I'm coming around to the idea that the NFL should just end violent collisions on attempted receptions, full stop. It's mostly impossible for refs to judge in real time whether someone was really hit in the head or just hit really hard. And it's exceedingly difficult, bordering on impossible, for defenders to properly target so they hit shoulder and not head.

That probably takes some of the fun out of the league for many fans, but the game needs to evolve. Give defenders some other ways to contest balls and contest routes, and remove the "hit 'em so hard they don't have the wherewithal to complete the catch" part of the game altogether.

Third and five and the Eagles go for 20 yards. Meanwhile, a long drive would do wonders for the Eagles in terms of keeping Ryan off the field and giving the Eagles D some blow.

Are you willing to rename the Lombardi Trophy after Gronk?

Terrific officiating combined with 20 commercials. 1 minute of game clock takes 20 real minutes. Great job NFL.

That cost them about 20 seconds of clock.
Yeah, but having the time out might save them 20 second if they get tackled in bounds so probably six of one half dozen of another. Plus, you can't be sure Atlanta won't convert and then you saved them time. That was actually not obvious either way for me.
