I’m quite certain I’ve never rooted for Purdue to win anything ever before tonight. This has been an amazing game.

I’ve always picked against Purdue in brackets because of Gene Keady induced muscle memory, but no more.

I should say Edwards wanted to play at Texas but Shaka Smart didn’t ever visit him even after his assistants said a visit would get him to commit.

Almost identical story for Texas Tech’s Culver, too.

He’s such a great head coach.

What specifically?
i like chuck but Bennett made many moves to try and disrupt Edwards. he ended up doubling him and it slowed him down but opened the bigs up a little. that kid made one mistake and maybe 3 bad shots. that was unreal. i knew all we needed to do was hit some 3s and try to slow him down.

Yup...and Edwards didn’t go nuts bc he wasn’t guarded. The guy hit tons of 3s that were NBA-plus distance

Unless I'm forgetting something, I think that was the best scoring game I've ever seen anyone have in the NCAAs, given the other team and the degree of difficulty on many of those shots, wowza. He broke Glen Rice's record for most 3s in a tournament with 28, and he did it in 4 games to Rice's 6. Also he had so little help, no one else scored more than 7 to his 42 (!!!!).

Moving the Line
Only one other player has had ONE 40+ point game in the tourney this decade period (Sparty's Adreian Payne vs. Delaware in 2014), let alone two in the same bracket. Unconcious performance.

I can’t recall two better back-to-back elite 8 games.
Saturday night 2005. Both overtime games.

First game. West Virginia raced out to a big lead but Louisville stormed back to force overtime. WV shot 17-22 from three and couldn’t win in regulation. Louisville won in overtime.

Arizona and Illinois was a great game that Arizona missed a buzzer beater to win it.
