Moving on to June, watching CC dominate the Jays. 9-1 in the 7th, they just Yanked him after he gave up a HR to Kendrys Morales

Pretty awesome day of baseball today - Pujols hits #600 via grand slam, which was one of SEVEN slams hit today (MLB record), a no-hitter, and a Lester pick-off.

Of course the rest of the AL West is a dumpster fire... 20-6 against their divisional opponents.

The line score is truly crazy. Washington scored 3 in the 8th and 5 in the 9th. Oakland scored 2 in the 7th 1 in the 8th and 6 in the bottom of the 9th.
And a perfect example of why current reliever stats are ridiculous. Glover gave up 5 runs in 1/3 of an inning and got a hold. Kelley gave up a grand slam and got the save.

If the Astros finish off the Royals tonight, it will be their 11th straight road win

The Blue Jays are playing the A's in Oakland under a bright evening sun. Old friend Jed Lowrie is playing 2B for the A's tonight. Our junior investment banker of 2010 is all growed up.

Which is to say, he's now a senior assistant vice president.

The top two teams in the NL played and Oliver Perez got the save, the third save of his sixteen year career.

A good rule of thumb is that if you really need to spike your helmet in the dugout after making an out, don't hit Miguel Cabrera in the face on the ricochet:

"In the Tigers clubhouse afterward, Cabrera wore a shiner under his left eye. He said he was fine."

Rays walk off in bottom of 10th after Colome blown save in bottom 9th. Old fashioned single admission double header today....wearing their original 1976 unis or something for first game.

I think time is running out for Tillman and the O's. Can't be in the rotation much longer

That really is amazing. I wonder what his 200m time is - gotta be pretty impressive to give that much of a head start. Just one more example showing how much we underestimate the gap between high level athletes and regular Joes

ETA: he's not even that high level right? Is Kennesaw State a big track school?

Not sure, but one article said the guy came in 8th in NCAAs at whatever level he's at.

NatsTown blows yet another game late, up 9-6 before giving up 2 in the 8th and 3 in the 9th, batting in the bottom of the 9th now down 11-9.

That bullpen is a dumpster fire. Harper was clearly pissed in the dugout after the game, maybe he would welcome back Papelbon??? Hopefully they don't wait til the deadline to go get Robertson/Colome/Melancon.

One little thing to watch today is that a cardinal player slid into Johnathan Shcoop with his spikes high after a double. He got spiked on the wrist trying to make the tag. It was a slide very similar to the Machado slide against the Sox. Let's see today if there is any retaliation from the Os.
