Actually, he's had a really weird year. In his last 16 appearances, he's given up multiple runs 5 times, one run 0 times, and no runs 11 times.
But even when he's been "effective," he's allowing too many baserunners, so yeah, at 40, he probably is just about cooked.
Pretty awesome day of baseball today - Pujols hits #600 via grand slam, which was one of SEVEN slams hit today (MLB record), a no-hitter, and a Lester pick-off.
The line score is truly crazy. Washington scored 3 in the 8th and 5 in the 9th. Oakland scored 2 in the 7th 1 in the 8th and 6 in the bottom of the 9th.
Meanwhile, two seventh-inning stretches in the Pirates-Mets game

And a perfect example of why current reliever stats are ridiculous. Glover gave up 5 runs in 1/3 of an inning and got a hold. Kelley gave up a grand slam and got the save.

Last night the O's scored two in the 9th to tie it before winning in 10. Tonight, they scored four in the 9th to tie it and won in 11.

Rays walk off in bottom of 10th after Colome blown save in bottom 9th. Old fashioned single admission double header today....wearing their original 1976 unis or something for first game.
Raisel Iglesias, who has been terrific for the Reds this season, just came in with a man on first, up 3 in the 8th. He proceeded to walk three batters and then gave up a grand slam to Seager.
That really is amazing. I wonder what his 200m time is - gotta be pretty impressive to give that much of a head start. Just one more example showing how much we underestimate the gap between high level athletes and regular Joes

Not sure, but one article said the guy came in 8th in NCAAs at whatever level he's at.
Orioles started the season 22-10 and were in 1st place in the East as late as May 20th. Since then they've gone 10-23 and are now in 5th.

One little thing to watch today is that a cardinal player slid into Johnathan Shcoop with his spikes high after a double. He got spiked on the wrist trying to make the tag. It was a slide very similar to the Machado slide against the Sox. Let's see today if there is any retaliation from the Os.
