Well I got the fat part right. I saw Fat Joe chilling at Pristine; thought there was an issue there, too, but couldn’t find it online.

Quavo punched Eric the Jeweler and I think Drew Brees sued a private jeweler recently too.
He did. Brees and his wife invested in diamonds though and sued over the value of those diamonds. The more you read about NFL players and financial investments they make the more you wonder who the hell advises these guys...

A victim’s retraction of a domestic violence accusations doesn’t (and shouldn’t) carry much weight in the court of public opinion. Occam’s Razor still says McCoy was somehow involved. But it’s obviously not the straightforward case it seemed to be a few days ago.

This was the bit that jumped at me (from the first of those links):

I’ve heard about celebrities borrowing ridiculously high-end jewelry for big events, such as the Oscars, but I can’t imagine that business model would work on a wider scale — you’d have problems retrieving the rented jewelry too often. And the apparent absence of any legal action to recover the items suggests they didn’t come from someone in the (legitimate) business of loaning such items. And McCoy seemed to have a keen interest in seeing these items returned to their rightful owner — if she owed a bunch of shit to Rent-A-Center, I doubt that would’ve come up in a conversation with the cops.

The judgment in the court of public opinion will be much different if McCoy merely introduced her to underworld figures than if he sent one of his associates to her home, but either way he’s a shitty person, and I won’t feel bad if this ends his career.
It’s obviously a complicated situation with lots of possibilities and that’s all I was trying to point out. I wasn’t trying to say McCoy is absolutely innocent.

Oh, I wasn’t criticizing you. I was reacting to the sources you cited, which had some details that I haven’t seen reported previously.

I guess McCoy was not suspended as a result of this. I just saw that he was injured in yesterday’s game.

I won't mention a name, but there was guy hanging around my little city in Canada that apparently had ripped off a number of NBA, NFL guys. My nephew was getting some Div 1 buzz in hoops, and turned down some low level DIv 1 teams to stay in Canada. During the recruiting process this guy showed up with Arizona state gear, pics of himself with a number of NFL guys, wanting to buy my nephew a coke etc. He said he was from ASU, etc. In the process of checking him out my sister spoke to ASU who said the guy had taken cash off lots of Suns, Cardinals, etc.

I mean he was clearly a fake, amateurish attempts at saying who he was, etc. But, guys had given him cheques, cash to set up summer camps etc. Later there was a semipro team and he was back in town, working in the office, where he took off with money. He never changed his name. My sister phoned the first person he said he worked with and they said he was a con-man. From time to time I have seen he is hanging around different teams, and people are still giving him money. He had even given people my nephew's name as a reference since my nephew as a reference. The mystery is how some of these guys keep their money as long as they do.
