61 did a great job of catching the ball thrown from the guy one over, while avoiding the one that was supposed to be thrown to him. Laser Focus.

The best thing about baseball is that no matter how many thousands of games you've seen, it seems like something new happens almost every day.

Just now, bottom 10, Astros/Padres, 0-0, runner on 2nd, 2 outs, high infield pop between 1st and home, Hosmer somehow overruns it and it lands untouched 20 feet from home, game over.

when he puts his hands on his knees after the play, you know he's just saying to himself ... "and this is just the first month"

Dodgers have some issues.
Their lineup really misses Justin Turner in the middle, but Kenley Jansen's missing velocity thus far is a potential longer-term issue. They were very streaky last year, 22-18 to start the year, then an insane 69-18 immediately followed by a 1-16 to bring them back to earth (92-52), and then 12-6 to get them to 104 wins plus the subsequent playoff run.

In frigid Cleveland temperatures that saw the Indians and Royals score a combined 8 runs all weekend until the final swing today, Yan Gomes capped off a 9-pitch at-bat with a walk off 2-run homer.

Cleveland snapped a 23-inning scoreless streak an inning earlier, tying it 1-1, with a walk, sac bunt, stolen base, dribbler to the mound that was mishandled, and an excuse me check swing grounder to the pitcher.

Jameson Taillon with a one-hit shutout of Cincinnati. The only hit? A 3rd inning single to center by opposing pitcher Tyler Mahle. The Reds also lost Eugenio Suarez to a fractured thumb (throwing hand).

Yep, stupidly IMO but he has indeed been terrible today when they really need him to do something with the bulk of the regular lineup out.

Also he is gaining velocity as the game goes on, a la Verlander.

Have there been an unusual amount of extra inning games to start this season?

I don't get why seemingly everyone in baseball always justifies the stupid things Molina does and says... he can do no wrong, as if he's a saint or a Yankees shortstop. I doubt being called a motherfucker is a rarity in professional sports, and if pointing a finger at someone is unprofessional, what's it considered when a player physically goes after a non-player, and purposely makes contact with an official in the process? Considering Timmons' comments, I'll be surprised if Molina even gets a slap on the wrist.

That’s ridiculous. While Luvollo maybe should have refrained from referring to him as a motherfucker, Molina had no business getting involved and truly acted unprofessional in attempting to go through Timmons to go after a manager. Needs a 5 game suspension. We will be lucky to see him get a fine.

The odd part to me is that Molina got upset at all. That is a great compliment to be called a motherfucker because you are getting strikes called. I would have been laughing my ass off if I was Molina.

Meh, it didn't look that bad to me. Seemed like Molina tried to go around the umpire, and Timmons cut him off and try to keep them apart.

Typically making contact with the ump is a one-game suspension, which seems appropriate here.

Corbin has 7k's through the first three innings. Hitters can't touch him this year.
Dude can make himself so much money next winter if he keeps it up, he would be the youngest top pitcher on the market plus a lefty.

One of those in studio MLB network things where Pedro soft tossed a pitch to Reynolds who hit it back into his face. Pedro was laughing and high fiving so he seems okay. Reynolds just fell to the ground laughing without checking on him.

Don't worry, Pedro will wait a couple of days until the next demo and then drill him in the ribs. Hopefully with a real ball.

If the White Sox and Rays had a tree fall on them in the forest and no one was around to see...

http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/mlb/white-sox-rays-play-in-front-of-reported-crowd-of-974/ar-AAvJ239?ocid=ientp

According to the Tampa Bay Times, the official number of people who used their tickets to enter the game was 974. It's hard to believe that many actually entered the ballpark based on pictures from Guaranteed Rate Field. The actual paid attendance for the game was 10,377.
