That was an insanely entertaining OT. No whistles and like 5 breakaways.

That was an incredibly entertaining game all things considered. Some Russian kid in his first NHL game finally broke the long scoreless shootout stretch. Cool moment for him.

Tonight's rooting interests for Bruins fans:

Bruins over Lightning - clinch a playoff spot for the B's

Capitals over Maple Leafs - gets the B's back in the division race and out of the Wild Card (for now)

Red Wings over Senators - see Maple Leaf comment

Predators over Islanders - eliminates the Islanders, I believe. I can't find confirmation

Note: Carolina and Philly have been eliminated

While a win would be ideal, the B's really, really need to salvage at least one point tonight. Otherwise, they are likely going to have to get 2 difficult points in their final 2 games (Senators and Caps) just to maintain the wild card (I'm assuming Tampa gets an easy 2 against the reeling Sabres).

You mean the Senators team that's won 2 of their last 10, getting 7 points and passed by Toronto in that time? I'm thinking that might not be as tough as last year.

And yes, I know they're 0-for-forever against Ottawa, but the Bruins have played with some serious tailwinds lately and Karlsson's been iffy lately.

They won't survive until then in all likelihood, but the Isles play the Senators on Sunday. Wouldn't be the worst thing to keep them alive.

Tonight's matchups for B's fans:

Bruins over Senators (huge for seeding)
Hurricanes over Islanders
Lightning over Maple Leafs - Gives the B's better shot of Top 3 Atlantic Division finish, but keeps Lightning alive for Wild Card

Bolts are in a fun spot. SO win would eliminate them, so we could see them pull the goalie in OT. They could even do it in a tie game late in regulation.

Caps have wrapped up President's Trophy so hopefully we'll see a lot of people not named Holtby and Ovechkin on Saturday.

What are the chances that the Pens try at all Tonight? Bruins will get swept by the caps. I really don't want to see that.

KESSEL

van Riemsdyk :(

JVR somehow stayed onside. Even if it comes back, he deserves that goal... unbelievable skill to pull that off

Blessed to have players like Tom Sestito in the league who are unskilled enough to not know how close they are to a goalie

This is true, but I feel like that's a matter of Sestito being unaccustomed to being near the net. You see goalies coming out beyond their crease often, but instances of them getting clipped or having their head picked off unintentionally are pretty rare.

Oh my god Guentzel...

Jesus, Hunwick almost gave the Bruins a massive gift.

Holy hell, that replay on Guentzel's chance is brutal

California. Duh.
Kessel scoring the winner with a few seconds to go would be awesome here.

Or a fucking deflection could go in for Toronto. FFS.

Hopefully they all get nice and drunk after the game.

I also expect Torts to have his team ready. He's not looking to go in on a seven game losing streak.
