Floyd can't do another fight unless he's going to take on more MMA fighters. He looks old as shit. He did not look good and will not stand up against a real boxer at this point.

Hard to be disappointed with that. Significantly more entertaining than the Pacquiao fight. McGregor didn't embarrass himself at all, and Floyd actually going in. Worth the $$

Because it was stopped and Conor was not allowed to die on the canvas, his moronic inbred fanbase will now complain for the rest of time about how it was stopped early.

I know most in here won't know who he is but Errol Spence Jr would end this version of Floyd inside of 5 rounds. He's done

I dunno if Floyd was playing possum or not. But yeah there are like 5-7 guys who would ko him now. Including Alvarez if he came down.

Hmm, I don't know much about the finer points of the sport, but it definitely felt like Floyd was toying with him to me. CM did something to piss him off and it was like he just decided to end the fight. He just shifted into another gear and it was over. I was surprised CM lasted as long as he did after that point, even if it was only because of the end of the round.

Don't knock the casual fan. Pretty sure a lot of people wanted to see a full-on knock out.
But that's not the way the sport's necessarily meant to play out. There's a reason the scorecards exist and there's a reason the fighters work more towards that than what's the most entertaining for the viewer.

Boxing isn't just about knockouts. I get the allure, but if you're watching and knowingly paying for boxing you can't be disappointed with a non-MMA ending.

Any sign of respect post-fight between Floyd and Mcgregor? Didn't have the chance to tune in tonight. Was curious what Floyd may do considering how long Mcgregor stood in there.

Mexican fighters are known to come straight forward and punch. Not a bunch of head movement. The old paradigm is it's almost disgraceful for a Mexican fighter to move his head too much. Much Castillo or Marquez.
Thank you both.
Stereotype about fighting styles, he made Floyd be more aggressive and come forward rather than getting on his bicycle and riding out a decision.

Lots of lovey-dovey talk from both sides.

They each had nice things to say about the other in the immediate post-fight interview. McGregor praised Mayweather's composure.

It wasn't a fight of the year candidate but it was legitimately entertaining, especially the 8th and 9th, and never laughable which exceeded expectations. Both guys are world class entertainers. God bless Periscope.

Fight was better than expected, I think.

Interesting to see the judges scorecards- looks like there was no way Conor was going to win a decision with them. At lease two of them gave Floyd 2 of 3 first rounds. Corrupt as hell.

Felt like Floyd was figuring him out early, then just wearing him down. From what I've seen of his other fights Floyd isn't a guy who is going to go to finish it if he's going to have to take damage to do it. He worked the body, ran McGregor out of gas then polished him off.

Ridiculous. Glad it didn't come to that. It was 5-4 going into the 10th, I think you could argue either way.

I thought Conor won 1, 2, 3, 8, and I think another was pretty close. Maybe 5?
8 was the one I'd be willing to flip. 5 is the one where Floyd just worked him with body shots, may not have looked like much but he was doing a lot more damage than the weak jabs McGregor landed. It was the real turning point of the fight, just wore him out.

That's when McGregor lost a point for a low blow correct? I'm watching post fight on FS1 and some doob on his card had the 9th round 10-9 for McGregor. LOL!
I think it was a warning not a deduction. I had it 10-8 because Floyd dominated and Conor would've gone down without holding. Didn't see whether any of the judges did as well.
