Looks like 8oz gloves got approved. Maybe this was the plan all along, but I think it helps Conor just a little more.

Probably because he is not a boxer and needs rounds
Camps are usually 6 weeks. People spar two weeks out.
Of course there are benefits to sparring, and maybe all this Paulie drama is fake, but having a emotional pro boxer in camp then treating him like shit isn't a great idea. If Paulie knocked him out, then what?

Lots of MMA guys don't spar at all. They don't think it's worth the damage.

I'd say the gloves help Connor more in the scenario that it bumps up the likelihood Floyd breaks his already brittle hands and it mutes his offense.

How many times has Floyd fought above 147 lbs? 3? It's entirely possible that Floyd just feels more comfortable in a glove size that he's used for about 90% of the fights over his career. The second Maidana fight was a dual weight bout (Mayweather's Welterweight and Super Welterweight belts were both on the line). Despite having the option of wearing 10 oz gloves for that fight, Mayweather chose the same 8 oz gloves he wore in the first Maidana fight.

To the extent McGregor boxes with a high guard, the slightly smaller gloves will leave a slightly larger opening for Floyd to sneak his punches in between his gloves. Not normally a huge deal, but given Floyd's accuracy and McGregor's lack of head movement, I could see a few more jabs and straight rights leaking through due to the glove change.

Reports have secondary ticket price for this spectacle plummeting in the last couple of weeks. We'll see if this corresponds to to PPV buys. It'll still be huge, but my guess is it won't quite live up to the hype of a couple of months ago.

People are acting like the fact that tickets are still available means that the fight isn't as successful as imagined; they have already done a $60 million gate for this show.

What is "as imagined"? Some, including in here, were saying this would be the biggest fight in history, and the biggest sports story of the year. It's obviously going to be a big fight, but the fact that there are tickets available for less than face and that all of the best hotels in town have rooms available for under $500 suggests that the excitement isn't at the level of the Pacquiao fight, for instance.

Love the odds, but I just can't make the bet on Floyd. Would totally ruin my night and the experience to sit there while *not* hoping for that chance CM wins the lottery there.

Plus I simply don't trust boxing enough to ever make a big enough bet for it to matter.

How do I bet on that site with Floyd -333? Just find a friend in Canada? What's Jersey, like in England?
Yes. Don't try to fool a book with fake info as you won't be able to get your money out.

If you're serious about betting large on Mayweather, you're gonna need to spread the money around for maximum payout due to betting limits. Each site has different limits. SI with its -333 is pretty low:
Bet Limits
  • The following are the maximum amounts, in US dollars, which can be wagered, per individual selection, online. Equivalent amounts in other currencies apply. Sports Interaction reserves the right to reduce betting limits on any event without notice.
    • NFL (sides): USD $2200
    • NFL (totals): USD $880
    • NFL Teasers and Combination Bets: USD $1100
    • NBA, NHL & MLB (sides): USD $2200
    • NBA, NHL & MLB (totals): USD $880
    • Futures: USD $550
    • Teasers and Combination Bets: USD $550
    • Tennis: USD $220
    • Other Sports: USD $550
    • Specials and Proposition Bets: limits vary
    • Limits may double on Super Bowl, NHL, MLB, & NBA finals
    • Sports Interaction reserves the right to cancel any bets inadvertently accepted by our system which exceed these limits.

Bookmaker is probably the US friendly site having the highest limits. Right now, it's $10,000 for this fight, but their odds are only -470.

Yeah, this is hilarious. I'm jumping at -400. Hopefully this doesn't turn out like Hillary-Trump for me.

I also like the under 6.5 rounds for +150. No way does Connor take his time with this fight, he is going to attack Floyd, miss badly and often and be punched out by 4th rd. FMJ will then pick apart Connor's exhausted defense and end the fight with a TKO to put a cherry on his career.

For those interested in seeing this...event and have no desire to enrich wife/womanbeating scum the following info will prove informative. More than decent chance there will be rogue streams. The following site will probably be able to point you to the best. Largely shows streams that work on all common browsers and some, if they exist, for mobile devices. This site itself is completely safe, been using it for years, and will screen out most polluted streams.

http://woop.io/

On this main page there will be a boxing area that will lead to listings.

Rules:
1. Do not go to any site without having a good adblocker turned on: The Chrome one is acceptable but best option is uBlock Origin which is available for every major browser. Just install it and turn it on, it requires no configuration.
2. At any site if you are told or it's suggested you need to download ANY software or browser... NO... NEVER. At best you will get a legit browser that has been infected with adware, useless addons etc. If it is suggested that your Flash needs updating, 90% of the time this is also bogus. Current version for almost all browsers is 26.0.0.151. If you're not current Google Flash Update and acquire it yourself, NEVER use or click any link at a stream site. In fact, any version of Flash from the last 6 months should also work just fine.

If I find a good stable feed I'll probably post it here tomorrow.

Those streams should work on my chromebox, right? I never got around to converting it to kodi but seems pretty ideal for this.

Can someone tell me when the main fight will probably start (or when this would be in central european/Berlin time)?
I´m reading a 4am start time for London time zone (so 5am for me/Berlin time). Is this correct? Or does it mean there are still fights from the undercard at that time?
Thanks!

Between here and everywhere.

This is my first time wandering into the world of sports betting, but it seems like if I bet 100$ on Mayweather, I'm only winning $26.

What's the fun in that?

Fair. I guess it's more significant if you're throwing down a bigger amount of cash. I just wasn't sure if I was reading/understanding that right.
In combat sports, using strong favorites like that is often used as part of a bigger parlay that has a bigger payout. But, I love this bet on its own.

SNL skit got me thinking -- how many kick attempts would Conor get to have to make the odds even? 10 kick attempts sounds about right?

Haven't seen the skit, but even a small number of kicks allowed would change pretty much everything about the fight right up to and including how they stand.

Anyone have a good site that breaks down the undercard? Obviously, I can find basic information like who is fighting, and for what, but other than the Davis and Cleverly fights, there doesn't seem to be much information about any of the others. If I'm going to bet on the main event, which I am, I'm sure as hell not going to wait four hours before putting some money at risk. Got to make them all interesting.

Leaning towards putting a good wager on Cleverly, who is the champ, and facing a Mayweather disciple in Badou Jack. Cleverly is getting around +300 last time I looked. Does he really have no chance? Davis meanwhile, lost his belt this week when he didn't make weight, he's undefeated, and has knocked out all but one opponent. Fight is still happening, but Davis is like -3000, so it sounds like his opponent is a tomato can.

I've always found the "___sport___streams" subreddits to be great. You have a community of interested viewers seeking out, sharing, and rating the quality of streams on the Internet.

Can we post good links here? I'm running around and have a party I have to stop at tonight. I'm worried about that lawsuit I heard about shutting down my normal vipleague or firstrow too.

I thin it's smart to get all this early coverage on Fox, would be even better for boxing to get 3 matches as part of the under card rather than 2, but t least they're making the most of the opportunity to try to get more fans into the sport.

The top two voted streams at the subreddit I linked to are working great for me. I'll post them here, but people really should just go to the subreddit. Some links will work better for some people than others based on what they're using to watch it. Also, some of the streams change to a new link when the main card starts. Trust the upvotes. It's real people grading them.

Total rookie question and apologies if it's been asked and answered, but when does the main event actually start in all likelihood?
