For the first time in the event's history, the starting order for the final segment will be determined following a random draw that decides if the top running nine, 10 or 11 cars have to pit for a mandatory four-tire stop between Segment 2 and Segment 3. Pit road will be closed for all other cars, and those for which pit stops were mandated must resume position for the final sprint, lining up behind the cars that did not pit -- creating an unpredictable, no-holds-barred rush to the checkered flag and All-Star history.
Now Those are some pretty wild rules. I wonder if we'll see someone intentionally drop back to 12th to be the lead (or no worse than 3rd) car ahead of those that had to pit.

I'll be camping in the infield by Turn 3 for the 4th year in a row at the All-Star race. Of course, the forecast looks terrible. But I did luck into some pit passes so hopefully it will be OK. The smaller crowds they have gotten over the years makes it a relatively laid back race to attend.

Showdown is underway. The trucks race next. But it feels like rain is coming. Radar looks ok, so we'll see.

I was standing on the track next to Casey Mears and his crew for God Bless America (accidentally). His wife is rather attractive. And Danica is tiny.
