SAC does that for salary relief. Hill wasn't playing there anyways and he signed a 3/$57MM contract last summer.

CLE is taking on long-term salary to make one more run. I haven't seen the cap numbers but I suspect CLE will be in luxury tax territory next year even without LBJ.

Not sure why UT did it but it does get a cost-controlled piece in Crowder.
Utah did it because they decided they weren't going to re-sign him and the trade value for RFAs in a vacuum is somewhere in the vicinity of a second rounder right now. Turning 30 games + playoffs of Hood into 2+ years of Crowder (who you gamble bounces back under a good coach and at worst is a tradeable contract) is good value in the current market.

Sacramento was a straight salary dump as you said, which is good for the Celtics; a Hill bounceback was one of the few realistic scenarios that could hurt the Sac pick next year.

Toronto sending Bruno Caboclo to Sac for Malachi Richardson. That's umm, a trade I guess.

Would love to see if Danny can pull off a Tyreke trade. Monroe's size and Evans' scoring off the bench would be a bitch for Cleveland to defend.

I want Tyreke too but I will be surprised if the Celtics make a move. Danny doesn't overreact to what is going on around him and he isn't going to give up a first round pick. Every Celtics trade deadline is the same, and this year it is hard to be too bummed if nothing happens.

Plus, they did just get Greg Monroe, which isn't nothing.

deep inside Guido territory

The #Celtics are (once again) looking to strike a deal at the 11th hour. Involved in lots of talks but nothing close to being complete. Have been told repeatedly that they will not change course in terms of their trade focus based off of what the #Cavs have done thus far today.

Looks like the C’s are standing pat again this season. Not a bad thing if prices are stupid

Adding Monroe and maybe 10-15 min worth of a certain someone for the playoffs works for me.

Ainge doesn't panic, but I do think if there was ever a year to push for a trip to the finals it's now.

It's not sexy, but Portland saved themselves $37 million in salary and luxury tax payments by dealing Crabbe and Vonleh. Of course they are in salary cap hell by their own doing but getting off that much money without giving up picks or taking on bad contracts is fairly impressive.

If he showed anything I would consider it after he is bought out, but he is barely even G-League worthy right now. Wouldn't it be something though - the Garden would probably burn to the ground if that happened.

Let IT work his magic on the Lakers and take those guys down too. Pick conveys, happy days!

I cannot recall how cooked Joe Johnson is but couldn't he be some scoring for the second unit?
Very. He could provide some scoring, but he'd do it inefficiently and play horrific defense while doing it.

Washington is trading guard Sheldon Mac to Atlanta, league sources tell Yahoo.
I remember the day well when I found out Sheldon Mac is a completely different human being than Shelvin Mack.

No need for the Celtics to panic and buy and overpay, given some of these prices.

They look good for both the long-term and short.

I'll take my chances against Tor and Cle.

And they've played GSW as well as anyone in the regular season.
