The 2017/18 Virginia Cavaliers join the likes of the 2004 Yankees and the 1980 Soviet hockey team.

I know it’s the biggest upset ever, but at 74-54 and the ass kicking this has been, it doesn’t even feel like an upset.

Those are teams with long proud histories that had one bad moment. UVa is like Charlie Brown kicking the football. It’s just a question of how much they fool you into believing before they try to kick it.

Kind of cool that their reward is to get the one seed’s bracket. K-State is good but they get a 9 seed.

But, of course, it is. Because UMBC is going to lose big to whatever team they play next.

This is a one-time aberration. And it is glorious.
They lost to Colgate. And Army. And Albany by 44. Aberration would seem to be correct.

"How far do you think this team can go"'''

Got to love the great sideline reporting

Albany beat UMBC 83-39, so Albany would have beaten Virginia by 64. That’s how it works, right?

I’ve often wondered if a 16 would beat a 1 and, if it happened, what it would be like.

Turns out, now that I’ve had 10 minutes, the answer is, “huh, interesting,”
