Collided with another Patriot making a play on a pass, went down, didn't get up, looked like your usual precautions, stretcher, etc. Then Slater and Bill talked, then Bill and Lafleur and the refs announced both teams agreed to suspen the game. What happened?
Blessing in disguise? That makes 4 players carted off the field in that fashion just this week. I wonder if we are nearing the end of pre-season games which will be replaced by joint practices.
He was put on a backboard/litter , which was loaded on the cart. Cart drove off the field and went under the stands.Scary shit. Dud anyone see if the ambulance came on the field? They went to commercial, then he was taken off, but I thought the cart was out.
Zolak said he saw movement from both the hands and the feet. I didn't see anything, I turned it off when they went back to timeout (glad to see the refs agreed with my judgment and called the game at that point).Watching the twin cast. They didnt say anything about movement, so curious what they said on the main broadcast? I didnt see him move as they put him on the cart.
I think we'll get there eventually. Next step, maybe a further reduction to two games (each team has an away and a home game), but that probably means we're up to 18 regular season games, so it won't exactly curtail injuries overall. That makes 4 players carted off the field in that fashion just this week. I went to a charity event last year, and andrews, mccourty and slate all spoke. They were all incredibly impressive men, especially slate. 100 pct class peopleMatthew Slater is a profoundly good and awesome human being. It cannot be overstated.
Having had numerous conversations with him, I concur wholeheartedly. A true leader of men.Matthew Slater is a profoundly good and awesome human being. It cannot be overstated.
It was interesting to see him essentially on a peer level with BB and LaFleur as they were talking it over. He didn’t seem to have an equivalent on the Green Bay side.Having had numerous conversations with him, I concur wholeheartedly. A true leader of men.
There's not many guys left from his draft class (and DeSean Jackson has hinted at retirement) and none of them are the same type of leader as Slater. He's been in the league longer than some coaches; he was drafted the same year as KOC and was in the league 9 years before Brandon Staley made the jump from college to the pros. Even LaFluer started his NFL coaching career the same year as Slate started playing. He's got a little bit of respect around the league. It was interesting to see him essentially on a peer level with BB and LaFleur as they were talking it over. And Josh Johnson had several years being out of the league as well so I don’t really even count him either although I remain amazed that he somehow found work at 36/37 despite being awful. There's not many guys left from his draft class (and DeSean Jackson has hinted at retirement) and none of them are the same type of leader as Slater.
