For those of you clock-watching at your desks on this Friday afternoon, you can thrill to the Bournemouth - Brighton fixture at 3:00 EST.

I like Brighton. They have a great home crowd. I don't like them to stay up but they're fun to watch. I like their kits FWIW.

Bournemouth look miserable this season ("miserable" = "worse than Everton").

Bournemouth played the whole game trying to set up that beautiful goal inside the six yard box.

OK, I woke up about 2 hours earlier than I really should have. All I'm asking for is a goal.

I have managed to talk myself into being happy about the Hodgson appointment.

So, removing Loftus-Cheek, probably our best player so far, for Bakary Sako, who is basically a championship player.

And the record is now Palace's. Next goal, first to go 0-5 without a goal.

And with City, United and Chelsea coming up, 0-8 is a real possibility.

Sorry buddy. It's a long season though, keep the head up.
Thank you :)

I won't be able to see the game next week. Maybe that will change the mojo.

But this long season is looking longer by the day. If someone offered me a 17th place finish right now, I'd take it -- even though with the talent on that team, they should be competing for the top half. Oh well.

Oh boy. Klavan comes over to Matip and Wood for no reason in particular, Arfield is completely unmarked. 1-0 Burnley

That near goal in the West Ham match was a real beauty. Audacious attempt and almost perfectly struck.

Edit: and for future reference, City have benefit from at least 1 and probably 2 bad ref decisions on offside today

Sort of grateful to NBC for forcing me to find other options. The commentary team on the Canada feed is pretty good compared to their weaker pairings.

Roger East not helping matters by taking Burnley players aside and having a fireside chat with them in lieu of either booking them or letting the game get on

WHU/WBA has been dire.
Billic for the second match in a row played Chcicharito on the wing, and was surprised it didn't work.
He's such a shitty manager,

This backline is just horrific today and I've absolutely had my fill of this shit. If Klopp thought this defense was good enough going into this season. Then he should have been sacked. Never saw this when he managed BvB.

David Luiz shown straight red at 88', coming in hard with studs up into the shin of Kolnasiac. Was at least a yellow and he was already on a yellow, so it doesn't matter either way I guess. I would have given red because it was "cynical," as they say - unnecessary.

0-0 in stoppage time, btw.

Except a second yellow would be a 1 match ban whereas a straight red is 3.

Valencia left completely alone at the edge of the box and buries it. 1-0 ManU and I fear a long afternoon for the Toffees.

Everton looking better over the last 5' or so and Martina just linked up with Rooney for a shot that went a little wide.

There's a difference in quality - Everton have failed to make that one good touch and/or given the ball away a few times too many - but I like what they're doing now. Better organization. More steel.

And just as I'm typing, an Everton goal waved off. Offside but only just. Better.

Martina is doing passably well bombing up the right side despite being a bad football player. If it were Seamus Coleman over there United would be in real trouble.

A shot of Sir Alex in the stands with a puffy-faced old bastard with a mess of red hair who looks like a homeless drunk in an expensive suit. I said "hey it's Mick Hucknall" because it's the only guy I could think of with hair like that. Turns out it actually is.

Reminds me of the time I was working at the Gap and this huge dude came in. I said to the guy I was working with "hey that's Kiki Vandeweghe" because that was the tallest white guy I could think of. He picks out a bunch of crap, comes up to the register and gives me a black Amex that says KIKI VANDEWEGHE

Looking pretty good in attack but Schneiderlin is lying too deep - he's got to get forward and supply more

Everton are lucky to still be in this. They're a bit wasteful with the ball. If they upped their game they could get a point.
