Playoff tickets

I just bought 3 really good seats for the AL Wild Card game at face price at Yankees.com.  There were plenty of seats available.
 
Such good availability leads me to believe a patient man might be able to find seats at a pretty good discount on the day of the game.
 
It was so dead at the Terlet last night.  Have the Mets captured the town's imagination to that degree already?

I am going as well. Couldn't believe how easy it was to get tickets. First playoff game for the Yankees in 3 years. You'd think there would be more interest?
 
Meanwhile check out the Stubhub prices for the NLDS for the Mets. 3 or 4 times face value and they selling out left and right.

I was just coming to post on this.  Guy just offered me $70 face tickets for $50.  I think this reflects the fact fans don't consider this a real playoff game, despite all the champagne in the locker room and MLB attempts to consider it such.  I sure as hell wouldn't feel like my team was in the playoffs until they won this game.

I heard on the radio this morning that the game isn't sold out.  That's pretty sad.

Even if you don't consider it a playoff game, it's the single most important game of the regular season. Unless MLB went nuts with the pricing, you'd think it would sell out.

The size of this city should guarantee a sell out on a regular night let alone a playoff game.

I'm usually no fan of exorbitant ticket prices in professional sports, but that's surprising, especially with the weather being very nice, maybe a touch chilly by game time.

I looked for fun at the first home ALCS game and there are tons of seats on Ticketmaster (at crazy face value)

This isn't a new phenomenon, and has nothing to do with the fact that its a wildcard game--they had empty seats in the 2012 ALDS.
