Betances goes to mound in 5th, strikes out 2, and gets pulled

Amusingly he homered right after they signed Lind, and now right after they signed Walker. You're still going to Scranton, dude, but we appreciate the struggle.

German has an efficient 6th, though there was one fly that came close

Torreyes boots one at short to put two runners on, Drury bails him out by starting a slick DP on the next hitter to end the inning.

Tanaka remains an enigma, I'll venture a guess he will be unreliable all year. Everything else looks rather good.

Actually I feel good about him struggling so far, his pattern traditionally has been lousy spring/very good season, so when he was absolutely dominant last spring (with the potential opt-out looming, I think this made him change his normal preparation plan), it did not bode well and we saw the results.

    Judge RF
    Stanton DH

    Andujar 3B
    Lind 1B
    Torres 2B

Bottom of the 9th, tied at 2-2, runner on 1st, no one out, Giancarlo Stanton up.

Oh wait, Jace Peterson is batting for Stanton.

    Spring training, yay.

Adams gives up 2 in the first including a 400 ft HR to Jones, but we now have bases loaded no out in 2nd.

7-4 final, we used pitchers I had never heard of and very unlikely I will need to become familiar with, as none of them did anything to help their futures.

Cody Carroll had a rough inning but is one of NY's top relief prospects, although he's not on the 40 man yet.

ahh it was a Cervelli 2 run homer in 1st, and now it's 3-1 in 3rd.... as Gray walks him in 3rd. 2 on 2 out he's already given up a run in 3rd and pitch count is at 55... uninspiring performance

In bottom of 3rd Cervelli cuts down Wade trying to steal 2nd...and he had a good jump

Mr. Sanchez 3 run homer (Judge walk, Stanton HBP) that just makes it over the wall on the right side of the Right foul line. 4-3 and stacking our righties doesn't seem to be a problem...right ?

Rivero walks 2 and Gardner hits a hard grounder that is misplayed on a bad hop at 3rd and the bases are loaded for Aaron with 1 out

Judge/Stanton/Sanchez are 3-6 with 2 BBs and a HBP and 8 RBIs, through 4 innings.

If they could just keep that up all year, the three would combine for around 2600 RBIs. :)

Rivero is PIT’s closer and one of the top lefty relievers in baseball, not today though.

In the 7th we've pulled most of the starters so the first appearance of a Garner/Judge/Stanton/Sanchez lineup was a rousing success, I hope it terrifies the league all year, and Shreve just had a smooth inning....

In 1st Bird double to base of RF wall moves Drury to 3rd, with 1 out. And Boyd balks Drury home, 1-0

Called away for most of the game, but my impression overheard is that Tanaka was better than his last outing, most of the rest of our pitching, including German, had serious control issues today.

I think we're into the part of spring training where most things are decided and guys who will make the team are bored and waiting for real games.

Gardner beats out a grounder down 1st baseline, he ain't bored and he ain't slow, but diving head first into 1st is not all that advisable at his age....
