I'm going to guess 2 games. Boarding and a major for charging all on the same guy within the span of 4 minutes. But yeah, wouldn't be shocking if it's only 1 game because it's the playoffs and we're the Bruins.

Tommy Wingels is not practicing today. If he has to miss time, the amount of the suspension will be higher. That's how Player Safety usually works.
But with the hearing today and the game tomorrow, it might be tough to do that. It's not like the regular season where the dude might have 45-60 more games to play so the suspension would always be served.

The Bruins are under no obligation to announce Wingels status for the game today, so I'm not sure how they factor that in.

Toronto shuffled lines at practice today assuming a Kadri suspension:

Komarov-Matthews-Nylander
Hyman-Marleau-Marner
JVR-Bozak-Brown
Johnsson-Plekanec-Kapanen

Bottom 6 today with the Wingels news:

Donato - Acciari - Backes
Schaller - Kuraly - Heinen
Don't hate it but have to think about shifting Donato up to play with 46 and Rick Nash and moving DeBrusk down to 3rd.

I see pros and cons either way though.

No thank you. Protect Donato as much as possible 5 on 5 and let him flourish on the PP. DeBrusk does not belong on the 3rd line, that entire 2nd line played great last night.

The problem is that Krejci's line is generally the most protected line, despite it being the "2nd" line. Kuraly and his line played 14 minutes last night, almost exclusively vs Toronto's 2nd and 3rd lines, with no offensive zone draws. Krejci had 8 offensive zone draws

I agree with flawless and red. Put Donato on the 3rd line and see if you can get some more secondary scoring.

The longer they drag out announcing Kadri's discipline, the more I fear it's one game (or zero). Friday night news dump.

Kadri is one of the dirtiest players in the NHL, in my opinion. I feel very strongly about this. He isn't dirty like Marchand.... most of Marchand's dirtiness seems to me to stem from bad to really bad spur of the moment decision making. Yes, he like getting under the other team's skin, but I've never felt that he gets on the ice with the pure intent of going after someone and hurting them.

Kadri, on the other hand, has long seemed to me to have a scarier, more thought out and developed mean streak. There have been a lot of times where his actions seem to be pre-meditated, and going after Wingels twice last night did nothing ti make me feel otherwise.

I figured 1 or 2 max, but glad to see 3. I hope they are consistent with it throughout the playoffs, they need to get hits like that out of the game.

Hope Marchand takes a hint that it appears the NHL Dept. of Player Safety isn't taking this stuff even in the playoffs and he behaves himself. Pleasantly surprised with this decision by them.

I would be ok with Brad Marchand getting 3 games, had he done the same thing to a Leafs player. I hope DoPS shows consistency to this decision going forward.

Totally agree. Keep Debrusk on the 2nd line and glad Donato will be on the 3rd line, good spot for him 5 on 5. It will be great to have Donato on the PP.

Shockingly the right decision on Kadri. I'm guessing it would have been 1-2 games had he not just boarded Wengel (the artist formerly known as Wingels) 4 minutes prior. When a guy is being that reckless and then ends up hurting someone, you can only assume he was only out there with the intent to injure.

It's kinda hard to argue with Leafs fans there. I mean yeah, I think he totally deserved 3 games but this is wildly inconsistent with how the league has punished players over the past couple of years, especially in the playoffs. I hope this is how strict the NHL will be going forward, but it feels way too arbitrary for me to get too excited.

Losing Kadri is huge. I rate him as their second most valuable player. Not having him neutralizes a huge part of Toronto's home ice advantage, which was being able to put Kadri on Bergeron's line and free up Matthews and JVR. Now the Leafs kinda have to put Tyler Bozak on Bergeron, and he's going to get eaten alive.

To be fair, the Bergeron line ate Kadri alive the last time they played, too.

FWIW I can feel their pain, but it is pretty funny to imagine the level of narcissism involved in imagining Bettman is going to sit down and do some soul searching about his tweet.

If we lived in that world my hope is that Bettman would soul search around the ridiculous issue of having the second and third best teams in the conference forces to play each other in the first round. That is the outrage for Toronto fans.

Ahh, the modern version of the "sternly-worded letter" to your favorite team's GeneralManager expressing dissatisfaction with how they are doing things and suggesting a few tweaks. Was Nixon calling in plays to George Allen the Rosetta Stone of this?

And I've read the posts above and understand that the apparent decision to sit Donato in game one could be reversed at any time. But even just focusing on game one, it seems like a mistake in my view to sit someone with Donato's apparent scoring ability. I get the small sample aspect but in his limited time, he's shown enough to make me want him in the line-up more than Tommy Wingels, and I like Wingels.
I'd kind of like to see Donato in there also (and he may get his shot now that Wingels may be hurt), but at this point I am mainly looking at this as a positive.

We don't have to look that far back to a time when a critical playoff game turned on whether 13th forward Kaspars Daugavins could make a play.

Agreed on Donato.

Re: Daugavins, ain't that the truth.
