Thought I'd look this up since I had no idea how true it was or not, Yankees/Girardi for the past three years:

2015: 497 total relief appearances, 7th out of 15 in the AL (league average 489)
2014: 475 total reliel appearances, 9th out of 15 in the AL (league average 482)
2013: 428 total relief appearances, 14th out of 15 in the AL (league average 468)

Trending up faster than the rest of the league, but nowhere close to an outlier or even the league leaders.
That's surprising. I guess I've just seen too many innings with multiple pitching changes when he's at Fenway.

At what point does the rays horrendous attendance cause concern at MLB HQ?

Any thoughts of your own on this, or just the usual headline posting?

Should they expand? Should the Rays actually move to Tampa?

What do you actually think on this topic you bumped an 18 month old thread for?

I personally would love to see expansion of two more teams and remove the inter-league games. Save it for the World Series like it used to be.

With the Marlins having just sold for $1.2 billion, it is an absolute travesty that this highly crony capitalist industry has not been forced to expand (and pay minor leaguers more). I'd love to see the Justice Department reopen the antitrust exemption, or find some other way to erode the ability of professional sports leagues to restrict competition, jobs, and player salaries, especially in the minor leagues.
