Does a good sports highlights show still exist on tv?

MLB Network this morning: people around a table talking

ESPN Sportscenter: looked like the Today Show. 4 adults around a table talking and laughing.

NFL Network: people sitting around talking

ESPN NEWS: radio show being televised.

What do people watch these days for actual highlights?

MLB.com for baseball highlights. NFL.com for football highlights. NHL.com for hockey highlights.

Of course good highlight shows exist. The individual sports networks (MLB, NFL, NHL, NBA) each do a great job with their highlight shows...when there are highlights to show. Considering that there was one MLB game and one NFL game last night, I'm not sure this morning is a great example to use in criticizing MLB or NFL Network for a lack of highlights.

If you're looking for strictly highlights, online is your best source.

If you have AppleTV you can go into the specific sports apps and get the highlights (two to three minutes) for your team specifically.

When Terry Bradshaw showed up on set and started laughing hysterically at nothing in particular, he poisoned the well forever.

I'm surprised the OP says that about MLB Network - usually they have Quick Pitch running on repeat from 5-10AM.

I love Quick Pitch on MLB network, and I realize that today was not the greatest day to look for highlights, but my point still stands. The major networks would rather talk about the drama surrounding sports rather than show highlights.

It sounds like a dedicated show no longer exists. I don't really want to have to navigate around various websites in the morning while eating breakfast. Maybe something like AppleTv is the solution. Thanks for the suggestion.

The AppleTV thing is cool because they hold on to the highlights for awhile. For example, I must've watched the highlights from the 2013 World Series well into 2014. Then when I'd get bored of the Red Sox POV, I'd check out the Cards POV.

EACH WAS MAGICAL!

I have an AppleTV in my bedroom and was not aware of this. I use it for 95% Netflix, 4% Hulu, 1% iTunes. I will definitely check this out.

YouTube is the best for highlights, the NFL's channel has really stepped it up this year when it comes to posting long videos of actual game footage of games; you can watch every relevant moment from every game in a couple minutes.
