Depends on who they hire. One hopes they already know the answer to "who is the next manager of the Red Sox?" And the interview process is mostly an exercise just to make triple sure they are right about that choice.

I'll withhold judgment until next offseason, or maybe two seasons. We probably won't know until then.

The wrong side of the bridge....
I was never on the fire-Farrell bandwagon, but I think it was a reasonable move at this point. He was neither a bad manager nor an especially good one, and despite the relative success of the past couple of years, the Sox have the vibe of a team that's a bit stuck and could benefit from a new regime. Of course a lot depends on who that turns out to be.
