I have been in So. California for almost thirty years. Last night it didn't dip below 90 degrees. I don't recall it ever being this hot this time of year, especially at night.

More of the same tomorrow, maybe a little cooler.

It's good to see Kershaw clear up some of that post season bad mojo. Seven strong.

Roberts knows what he has in that 'pen and wants to keep Cy Kershaw's arm as fresh as possible for Game 4 or 5, depending which way he goes and where the series stands.

I didn’t get that one. Instead, I got a commercial for Ceder Sinai oncology.
Oh, yeah, well all I have are satellite signal loss notices on the telly and flooding alerts on the phone. Glad we're on the top of a hill and that somehow I'm able to get the game on the mlb app, which I'd thought was impossible for the post-season.

Career ERA+
Kershaw 161
Johnson 135
Koufax 131

Career WHIP
Kershaw 1.00
Johnson 1.17
Koufax 1.10

Career FIP
Kershaw 2.60
Johnson 3.19
Koufax 2.69

All are great pitchers and Koufax has the best 5 year run of any pitcher ever IMO. But Kershaw is just 29 years old and seemingly getting better every year. If he can stay healthy, he's going down as the best LHP ever.
I mean, it's hard to compare people from different eras, but Johnson had a 12 year peak stretch from 29 to 40 (he pitched five seasons before and five season after also, 22 seasons in total), where his ERA+ was 166, WHIP 1.08 and FIP 2.69. He won five Cy Youngs in that 12 year stretch (including four straight) and was second three times and third once.

The common house peacock, Shitius Peacockium, is known for sweating profusely before shitting itself. We missed this amazingly wonderful display of nature tonight, but definitely something to keep in mind as this series progresses.

Morrow is the kind of find that wins you championships.

He seemed like he had great stuff at times when the Sox faced him but his numbers never seemed to match the eye test. He disappears to San Diego and then the next thing you know he's the 8th inning guy in a tight game 1 of the World Series.

In the past, Mattingly would have pushed Kershaw to 100+ pitches because he didn’t trust the bridge to Jansen, and Kershaw would blow it.

Different team now.

Kind of crazy when part of the bridge was a late season call up for the Padres last year who you signed to a minor league deal for peanuts.

Watching these playoffs and the last few years, bullpen seems to be so much about mental makeup in October.
