"Yankees owner Hal Steinbrenner spoke to reporters in Florida on Wednesday and told them the club plans to honor David Ortiz during his final series at Yankee Stadium. The retiring designated hitter will make his last trip there with the Red Sox from Sept. 27 to 29. “I am sure we’re going to do something,” Steinbrenner said, per the New York Post. “We have not formally, minute by minute, figured out exactly what we’re going to do yet. He’s a great player, great part of that franchise. Everything you like to see in a player.”

Not surprised, not only because the Red Sox did things for Rivera and Jeter, but the Yankees had a similar tribute to Yaz back in 1983, so there's precedent.
