  • 6/30 - Philly pitcher Rube Waddell was noticeably fatigued in the later stages of this game plagued by precipitation. Boston capitalized and scored twice in the 8th to tie the contest and pushed the winning tally across in 9th. Cy Young collected the victory with Lou Criger behind the dish.

Boston 4, Philadelphia 3

  • 7/15 - Trailing by a run in the 9th inning, Lou Criger tied it up with a three-bagger that plated Candy LaChance. Jesse Tannehill then pinch-hit for fellow pitcher Norwood Gibson. Tannehill came through with a hit to score Criger and the Red Sox took home the victory.

Boston 4, Detroit 3

Boston 4, St. Louis 3 - 11 innings

  • 7/27 - Cy Young battled to the end and received the win for his troubles. With Boston trailing in the 9th, Hobe Ferris knocked in Freddy Parent following his triple. In the 10th frame, Chick Stahl brought home the winning run with a long drive.

Boston 2, Chicago 1 - 10 innings

  • 8/29 - Americans pitcher Bill Dinneen got the job done in more ways than one on this August afternoon. After twirling nine scoreless innings, his club was still even with the Tigers, but not for long. Ed Killian issued a free pass to Hobe Ferris to start the 9th and was eventually driven home by the pitching hero of the day, Dinneen.
