Overview
The 1975 American League Championship Series featured the surprising Boston Red Sox (95-65) against the three-time defending World Series champion Oakland A's (98-64). The Red Sox went on to sweep Oakland in the Best-of-5 series and moved on to the 1975 World Series.

Game 1: October 4, 1975 at Fenway Park
The A's were without Catfish Hunter, but the Red Sox sent their ace Luis Tiant to the mound in Game 1. Tiant spun a beauty, limiting the A's to just 3 hits in front of the Fenway crowd. Juan Beniquez and Rick Burleson led the Boston offense.

Carl Yastrzemski was the hero in Game 2, hitting a decisive two-run home run. Reggie Cleveland outpitched Vida Blue, and Dick Drago finished out the game with three innings of shutout ball for the save.

Game 3: October 7, 1975 at Oakland Coliseum
The Red Sox had the A's on the ropes in Game 3, and got on the scoreboard first in the third inning. The Sox would score three more in the fourth inning, which was enough for Rick Wise to get the win. Drago would close out the game with his second save of the series, and the Red Sox went home to Boston to prepare for Game 1 of the World Series against the mighty Cincinnati Reds.
