The Red Sox opened their second season in Greenville SC with the opening of a new downtown stadium, and ended with a record for attendance in Greenville of over 330000 patrons. Unfortunately, the team record was under .500. However, the team did have a number of prospects run through the team this season
Offensive Player of the Year:
The Catcher played in 96 games in Greenville before earning a promotion to Wilmington, Mark hit .301/.386/.456 with 32 doubles, 42 walks and 52 Ks.
Pitcher of the Year:
Clay started 21 games for the Drive, going 9-4 with a 2.62 ERA over 103 innings. Clay walked 29 and struck out 117 in those 103 innings, ending with a WHIP of 1.04. He was slightly homer prone, giving up 10.
Offensive Players:
- Jeff Natale: Jeff played in 50 games in Greenville at the beginning of the season, putting up the impressive line of .343/.487/.571 with 10 doubles, 10 HR and 41 walks (vs. 20 Ks), before earning a well deserved promotion to Wilmington.
