BQR is a VERY valuable stat when judging how effective a relief pitcher is. It basically shows if a relief pitcher is above/below league average concerning stranding baserunners. A positive figure means the following relievers kept more of the bequeathed runners from scoring than expected, negative means more of the runners scored than expected.
