Overall Career
Benjamin Edwin Paschal was born on October 13, 1895, in Enterprise, Alabama. Paschal was 19 years old when he broke into the big leagues on August 16, 1915, with the Cleveland Indians.
Paschal had an 8-year career as an outfielder. In 364 games he batted .309 with 24 HR and 138 RBI. Paschal was a swift, hard-hitting outfielder, but struggled to find playing time with the Yankees of the late 1920s with Ruth, Combs, and Meusel. He played in the 1926 and 1928 World Series.

Paschal's Moments in the Sun
- One of only five men to ever pinch hit for Babe Ruth. The Babe had homered in the ninth inning and headed for the clubhouse. The Yankees batted around, and Ruth was nowhere to be found, so Paschal pinch hit for him.
- September 22, 1925: Hit two inside-the-park homers in the same game

Trivia
- In September 1925, Paschal had seven homers, a Yankee rookie record for September that would stand until 1998.

Transactions
- September 9, 1924: Purchased by the New York Yankees from the Atlanta (Southern Association) for $20,000.
