Overall Career
Clinton Merrick Hurdle (born July 30, 1957 in Big Rapids, MI), was a first-round pick (9th Overall) by the Kansas City Royals in the 1975 amateur draft whose promising career was derailed in 1981 at age 23 by a back injury.
Hurdle began his major league mananging career in 2002 with the Colorado Rockies, and managed them to the 2007 World Series.

- Hurdle broke into the big league in 1977, as a 19 year old.
- In spring training in 1978, he was featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated as a "can't miss" prospect, something which was later held to have jinxed his career.
