Instant Replay has been a widely discussed topic that has been disputed by those involved in Major League Baseball. Instant replay came into affect on August 28, 2008.

Trivia

• The first use of Instant Replay was on September 03, 2008 in the top of the ninth inning of the New York Yankees at Tampa Bay Rays.

• The ball appeared to careem off of the Left Field Upper Catwalk.

• The first use was unclear as it appeared that the ball hit the catwalk in foul territory and then bounced into fair territory.

• Charlie Rutherford was the crew chief who upheld the onfield Home Run Call.

• The total time for the instant replay was 2 minutes and 15 seconds.
