Kansas City has been the home city for various major league teams in the American League and National League:
- The Kansas City Royals are current members of the American League Central and have been a major league team since 1969.
- The Oakland Athletics are current members of the American League West and have been a major league team since 1901. They have previously been known as the Philadelphia Athletics (1901-1954) and the Kansas City Athletics (1955-1967).
