Overall Career
Kevin William Ool (born January 4, 1981 in Middletown, New York) is a left-handed reliever drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 16th round of the 2003 draft. He was traded to the St. Louis Cardinals along with minor league outfielder Carlos de la Cruz to reaquire Mike Myers at Terry Francona's request in 2005.
A groundball pitcher with great control, Ool appeared in 54 games in the Red Sox organization compiling a 6-3 record with a 3.71 ERA, 74 strikeouts and 18 walks in 89.2 innings. His best pitch is his changeup, and he also throws an 85-88 mph fastball and a three-quarters breaking ball.
The St. Louis Cardinals released Ool on July 11, 2007. Kevin had a 4-2 record and 5.08 ERA in eight starts and 13 relief appearances at Double-A Springfield. He is currently pitching for the New Jersey Jackals of the independent Can-Am League.
