Overall Career
Kevin Romine was originally drafted by the California Angels in the 3rd round of the Regular Phase 1980 January Free Agent Draft but did not sign. He was drafted again in the Secondary Phase of the June Free Agent Draft later in 1980 by the Philadelphia Phillies but again, did not sign.
Romine made his MLB debut on September 5th, 1985 scoring Steve Lyons from second on a pinch hit single in the eighth.
Romine was limited to a fourth outfielder/bench player roll during his modest MLB career appearing in a high of 92 games in 1989.
Romine was released by the Red Sox in august of 1991. His career ended with 5 HR in 630 at bats over a total of 331 games and a final batting line of .251/.306/.325(BA/OPB/SLG)
Moment in the Sun
Kevin Romine will always be remembered, at least by one Red Sox fan who was in attendance and witnessed it, for a grand slam over the center field wall against the Chicago White Sox on Sunday, May 5, 1991 at New Comiskey Park
